Slaying my debts, the second year

  • Would it be worth looking if there are any posts available in any other schools to give another chance to the teaching profession and just hope it is just your school. Then if that doesn't work out you know you truly tried and can rethink your options? Its awful when you are so miserable with your job, I feel for you.
  • I have had a look, no jobs this week. but I will keep looking. have been thinking all afternoon and evening.

I think if I did get another teaching job I would try to transfer over to Primary rather then another sec school. I don't think Primary is easier by any means I just think my "talent"(if any) is with younger children. And I get the point of teaching kids to write and read and do maths, my current job has lost its meaning?

The bottom line is that I need this stinking job, I must pay off my debts. Its terrible cos I feel ok now - spent the day doing my own thing (well re-sealing the bath but you know!) and school lessens its grip on my brain. I know come four o clock tomorrow I will be tied in knots again.

In other news I applied for another 0% card - with a longer deal 15 months I think. That gives me a bit of breathing space and some more cash to pay for driving lessons(more driving lessons)

If I am debt free by december 2009 I won't need this job, I can hand my notice in. I will have a choice again.

so I shall just have to suck it up. people have done worse!

Well done getting your little jobs done Buffy. I do ebay now and then, and I find even selling a small amount of things tedious- all that addressing and wrapping and qeueing at the Post Office, God knows how people that sell lots on there cope, I couldn't. I only do about 3 or 4 things at a time.

Also, I have been reading your diary with interest especially the bit about work. I indentify because I reeeeally dislike my job too but feel trapped by my debts, so I think that I can't get another one. I'm not sure that's the right attitude though, in fact I know it's not, me sitting here doing nowt isn't helping me. After all people aren't going to be knocking on my door offering me a new job are they? I need to either change my attitude and approach to my present job or take serious steps to find another one. So I do know how you feel. Maybe we can sort of spur each other on.
  • right i don't have long, got to get on with lots of stuff. *waves to bayblue - am up for a debt buddy!*

    mini list

    1. file bills
    2. pay virigin (done)
    3. tidy up e mails (done)
    4. worry about deleting something important (now doing)
    5. clean room
    6. tidy wardrobe (must have more clothes!
    7. go shopping - to boots to spend voucher, buying laminating pouches, pet treats, drinking bottle for work, sneak a look in New Look...
    8. check prep for school, fill in form for monday's meeting and prep for after schol meeting. find detention work, maybe prep year 11 lesson.
    9. tackle Open University.

Its be rough being back at work, really rough. not really on the ball re the rest of my life. so tired and have been miserable. made a few decisions and feel better. but need to get back to the debt busting.

    off now

  • The only thing I haven't done on my list is tackle OU.

apart from that. I redid my sums.

my date free date is not looking good! I can't do as many hours at tutoring as I wanted due to my first job so that screws that up.

unless I can make an extra 424 pounds a month I won't be debt free for ages.

well 20/21 months instead of 15/16.

I think I will continue to pretend that I will be debt by the end of 2009. I will see how much Avon can make and what else i can sell on ebay.

  • Debt free date for Virgin Credit card = june 2009.
at which point i will need to find 12299 - that is what I will have left on the loan.

    in six months. hmmm.

Must over pay loan by around 300 pounds per month from now or over pay CC card quicker. which I could do if had spending money down to a mimnium. which I guess is possible. sighs. is it really though?

it all depends on how my second boss takes me cutting my hours.

I wonder how much sex texting pays!!
