  • Hi Buffy

Hypno has had problems with payments to her Egg loan so maybe it could be worth asking her to help you make sense of it?

    Hi Buffy

Was getting a little worried after i read some of the posts, but you seem to be more confident and positive now. Good to see that. Remember not to tackle everything at once though - try to leave space for downtime / you-time too. No comment on the BF (not that i'm jealous ;))

I'm hoping to see a statement for my loan to see if my calculations are correct - as i understand it, the 2006 amendments to the Consumer Credit Act means that all agreements falling under the act require an annual statement to be issued (commencing 1st October 2008), so hopefully i'll get one by October 2009. I'm just wondering if there is Payment protection insurance (PPI) on your loan.

Hi Buffy - read through a few of your posts on other threads - have tried to skim through your thread but it's so long! :D So will just have to catch up as I go along. You're sounding very positive for the New Year :) Am I correct in that you're a teacher? I do exactly the same as you and leave all school work til the end of the hols - even now, I'm decluttering drawers rather than do the marking that must be done! So silly - will I ever learn?!!
Hope you're having a good day

  • ooooooo so many lovely replies! thank you, they always cheer me up!

I have kinda been avoiding the diary, been a bit miserable lately, the starting back at work and all the issues that it brings up both at home and at work.

My boss is really getting me down. He is a nice guy but its his way or the high way and we had a run in this week.

trouble is my life will be like this till I am out of debt. Every time I have a week like this(that would be weekly) I sit down and work out my money, re loan and cc and rent and realise that I can't afford to move out or change my job.

So I either wallow in my misery and do some retail therapy (thus taking me further away from being debt free) or I suck it up, play with my sums and try to do everything I can to get out of debt.

On the plus side I loved my tutoring this week and although I still haven't marked all the assessments but I have done a lot of the book marking.

I am doing ok on the NSD front and am more or less kept a spending diary. have stopped myself buyings loads!

I am looking in to running as a way to get fit (the whole being fat in shapeless clothes on the sofa isn't helping in the positve stakes) its cheap (I may need trainers) it can be done in the dark! (the Vampire method of getting fit (the amazing adventures of diet girl) and it would help with all the angry stressed feelings I get

so i found a (very) easy plan and intend to follow it starting monday. I shall go and sit in my room cos we have vistors coming.

    ugh.

    Hi Buffy,

Good to hear from you again! I know what you mean about sitting down and working with the figures. I keep doing that to try and stop me from spending too.

I know that you are struggling with work but I wonder if you can think about it this way - in 12 months you will be debt free. That's going to include some difficult times but you are so close.

You (and I) WILL get there. Pick up some 'distraction' techniques that aren't shopping to take your mind away from the crap working situation.

I saw a fantastic suggestion on another board - the poster was making a 'mood board' with all the things being debt free meant to her to motivate her at the tough times. Is that something that would work for you.

No advice on the weight loss as I am in exactly the same boat as you! Need to do something about it but have not been motivated at all this week. Far too cold.

Happy New Year to you - by December you'll be jumping for joy and up on that roll of honour!
