Tamebay have given their take on how this pricing review will affect sellers strategies. http://www.tamebay.com/2008/08/ebay-uk-fee-changes-goodbye-sif-and-gallery-fees.html

Non international visibility on BINs is very bad news for me.

I think is one of the most crucial changes for me. I do understand that certain European countries won't be excluded but it depends on how up to speed each international site is on the new format! Hopefully, the visibility will get better when more countries change over to this new format!

Wow, the same tactic again. Cut the upfront fees (no gallery) but claw it all back and more with the FVF rises.

    Thanks e**y, that's just what I wanted.

I wonder if we'll see the auction format removed sometime in the next 6-12 months.

Ebay have been spotted by the media, I've heard on some radio station this week that Ebay was asked if they were planning to get rid of auction sales in favour of BIN, they denied it of course, but it looks that way. Soon it won't be worthwhile for anyone who wants to sell just a few things hanging around their house to even consider selling them on Ebay.
Ebay is getting too big for their boots....

Same for us, we send absolutely everywhere.

Will the 'canada usa visibility option (10p)' be expanded to regions with obvious higher cost?

If anyone has got any sound strategies to get round this......

Not a chance, auctions are still the larger part of its turnover. Admittedly the gap is closing. I sell predominantly auction and unless the customer base starts dwindling (there has been no sign yet) there is no way I'd stop using Ebay. The rates might appear steep, but try selling through auctions 'offline' they have a much smaller customer base and charge a much higher rate of commission.

Total amount at the moment ebay and paypal together are taking 10%, with this new greed change it works out around 12.5%, its getting too much to sell anything. I also had a ebayer that didnt pay for an item and left me bad feedback for no reason but i could only leave positive feedback to a seller, whats going on with ebay.

Doesn't quite make sense at the end, but you need to report the buyer for non payment and you can get the feedback removed and in every likelihood get the buyer removed too if he has had other non payment strikes.
