  • i think it's very cheeky to reverse/park on other people's driveways. They are always doing it in my mum's cul de sac. The next door neighbour has 4 cars and has quite often when swing on or the other scratched my mum's car. i find it very annoying
    I have dyslexia, so get used to my spelling and grammar :)

  • If OH parks across the drive which he did last night, I think the neighbour would still reverse and clip the car...he really doesnt care!

    Do you think we should just go for the posts?

    I would - and make sure they are spaced out just enough so he cannot get his car in between any of them.....you can get dimensions of cars from the manufacturer's website....;)
  • OMG - totally unacceptable behaviour from neighbour :mad:

    What gives him the right to park on your drive? - it is a shame you feel you can't just approach him and ask him not to park on your property but I guess if your really unable then parking your car so there is no room for another car or the bollards are your best options - though surely this will aggravate him also?
    I do think a letter from the HA to the neighbour explaining that you require access at all times would be in order.

    I hope you manage to resolve this - keep us posted

    Could you put some heavy plantpots along the edge or maybe put a length of chain from one to the other?

    I'm a bit confused- is he actually parking on your drive or turning on it? I have a shared drive (3 houses) but since its at the end of the road everyone uses it to turn around. Theres absolutely nothing you can do about it though unless you want to put bollards up to stop him parking on it.

    He is parking on the drive and he also reverses into it to get out of his drive opposite.....I dont think he knows how to use the steering wheel:D

    Our drive isnt shared...its our own private drive and isnt at the end of a road, so there is NO need for anyone to use it to tuen around.

    Hmmm..i was confused about this til i saw the pic. The problem is that because of the size, orientation and position of your "drive" it does look a bit like shared or communal space. If it is actually your space and you have definitely got this documented,then you could;

    1) just tell him
    2) tell the HA to tell him
    3) remove your boundary fence and put some sort of gate arrangement alongside the kerb edge to enclose your drive,,,or as you say,put posts in.
    4)park on his drive

    Thanks

    If you came to the cul-de-sac you would see that everyone has there own drive and this is defintely our own private drive. It is not shared. There is no need at all for anyone to turn around in our drive as at the end there is enough room to do a turn.
