Most of the stuff on ebid seems to be from businesses. I've used adtrader and preloved for general BIN selling but the other auction sites just can't compete with Ebay.0

As Ebay become less attractive I suggest the following free to advertise sites.
adtrader
findit
tradeit
exchangeandmart
They were all free when I last used them. Maybe newspaper classifieds will come back into fashion.
Ebay clearly don't want the small time sellers.Happy chappy0 -
I have a small business selling handcrafted items and now I feel quite strongly that eBay maybe courting a very different kind of seller. When they have it I wonder if they'le be happy with it in the long run. All those wholesale suppliers of mass produced goods (often from overseas). And there's a reason why this stuff is so cheap. In the search results you cant see the woods for the trees. Even the individual seller selling what he no longer uses is lost in the swamp. Its a long way from eBays original values and purpose. So maybe many folk will shop elswhere if they cant find original or authentic items in eBay anymore.tomstickland wrote: »As Ebay become less attractive I suggest the following free to advertise sites.

My friend makes quality steel-boned corsets and I was trying to get her to sell on Ebay, but when you consider there's a lot of people selling them for under £30 when, properly made they should be more like £100, I would have to agree with you yellowmellow...Ebay is just full of tat now.0

Tat, yes I didnt say it because I was thinking something brown and didnt want to get censored. If she is needing to make a living she should try a website of her own. Mine is under construction. I bought the whole package: domaine(2 years), one year of being hosted, a downloadable programme which lets you build web pages without the use of html. lots and lots of templates and a good forum of dedicated people to sort out any probs. This all inclusive deal is from Vodahost and cost me around £65. I only purchased last Sunday so early days but good so far. Have made 2 pages and they look pretty proffesional. I'm looking forward to just knowing that I wont have anything to pay for another year and that I can play around till I get it the way I want. And its MINE you cant feel like that about your eBay shop, at least I think not, I know I dont ( I have to pay eBay 7p for theyre tacky shopfront template each and every listing or else it looks so bald). I did look into free websites though in true:money: spirit but I conclude that they are good for personal use (so your aunt in Austrailia can view pics. of the new baby) but not sophisticated enough for most business purposes. My friend makes quality steel-boned corsets and I was trying to get her to sell on Ebay, but when you consider there's a lot of people selling them for under £30 when, properly made they should be more like £100, I would have to agree with you yellowmellow...Ebay is just full of tat now.0 -
