Listing Fee Increases Yet Again??

Hi all,

Just saw an article on sky.com (can I put a link here? I dunno) saying today ebay have put the charges up for selling for the second time in months?

Absolute outrage.

I really don't understand why ebay is all about protecting the buyer these days and sellers get the shaft - can't leave neg feedback, MUST use paypal, fee increases, paypal charges... it's all getting too much.

I have a few comics on ebay just now.

I think once they sell (sorry, IF they sell as nobody seems to be interested) I'm going elsewhere.

  • But the problem is where do you go??
  • People keep saying ebid, but i've struggled to find anybody who has actually sold anything and every item i've watched never moves.

theres ibootsale which some people talk about! but the only place I use really is ebay! oh and I sell my old children clothes etc... on a mother baby website! - perhaps its an idea to find forums of people with interests of the things you want to sell and see if they have a buy/sell section?
    :p:p Angel :p:p
  • Thanks angel, i agree with what you are saying about forums / interest and i beleive that would be a good option for a hobby seller but unfortuanlty i work for a company that operate an shop in ebay. This shop is there only method of selling on the net and despite my arguement that they should start there own website they say ebay is were the traffic is.

Have you seen the "NEW" shop fees. Pricing the small seller out of the market for sure. My shop gets closed today!
  • i know of a seller that uses his ebay shop to "forward" people to his web site. Well i suspect that will be coming to an end soon. I wonder if half the problem with trying to an alternative is its a case of "better the devil you know"
  • But there must be some alternative to Ebay - their prices will keep increasing and increasing and more and more impossible conditions. I too work foor a company with a shop and its crippling. Not getting a website or looking for another host site is an example of laziness and fear. It would be better to find somewhere else now before its too late and your just wiped out of ebay completely without being able to traffic people to your new location so that when the inevitable comes people know where else to go. at the end of the day - people use Ebay becuase its cheaper - its becoming less cheaper becuase of fees therefore when customers begin to hear of an alternative that is like the Ebay that was they will follow - question is where?
