  • I am a lincolnshire lass and you can rent properties, decent 3 bed ones for £400 - £500. I suggest that although it may be difficult you try to find one of these. Remember that you will get working families tax credits when small one is born and think of the space you would have.

  • Hi Lincsdan

Sounds like you've made good progress excellent stuff! :D

Having rented privately through letting agents lots and lots of times before it is quite possible to be in quickly - you kind of see somewhere - put down holding deposit (normally 100 pounds) and then they credit check and send off for references but depending on the landlord you get usually get in pretty quick.
If you go council housing route then not sure on speed of move?
I expect you've got an eye on the places available to rent anyway as you said in your earlier post.

Good luck with it all and take care

Ps - hope your OH hasn't visited the other long old thread you recently started - probably scared the bejesus out of her! :rotfl:
  • Just had a look at rightmove and to be honest coucil rent is in the region of £340 - £360 a month, however impossible to get. The properties in Lincoln on rightmove start at £375 pcm for a 2 bed terrace, that isn't a great deal more than you are paying now and remember you could get help with the rent if you were on a lower income. My personal opinion is that £30 a week isn't a great deal to pay for my sanity and my freedom. Remember to look at all your finances and see what you would be paying and do all the price comparisonns to see thart you wouldn't be paying too much.
