Dishwasher tabs
Sorry, i dissagree with that one. After my Costco sourced 'Finish-Calgon' tabs were finished, i purchased a couple of boxes of Lidl's tabs, branded W5 iirc. They are rubbish. Glasses which were previously spotless with the other tabs are now left with a milky white deposit on them...changing back to a Finish tab clears the problem.Don’t be a can’t, be a can.0 -
NETTO
flora buttery 100% free 1kg tub for only 60p0 -
My Aunt highly recommends Aldi's Mince Pies. She even rates them better than M&S.0

I agree with myusernamestaken Aldis kitchen spray does indeed smell vile (I think it smells like mould!) but it does the job OK. I also like the part baked baguettes and rolls too as SallyD says.
I saw a programme with Rick Stein just before Christmas about the best local Christmas produce. There was a blind taste test on Christmas pud. 7 puds - Tesco, Sainsbury, Waitrose, M+S, Aldi, Somerfield and an organic company. There were a couple of hundred testers I think in the room, with no clue as to which pud came from where. Somerfield was 1st, Aldi 2nd and M+S 3rd.
I cant speak from experience though because I dont like Xmas pud so I havent tried it!0 -

Yes.. yes... speaking from experience... *sigh*
I must admit, couple of years ago we took home a GREEN 'Fresh' chicken from Liddles, now my husband won't buy any meat there.0 -
At the moment Netto have reduced all their Christmas biscuits and chocs to half price, eg 1kg Teatime assorted biscuits for 99p, don't expire till May 06. Also Wolf Blass President Selection £6.99, £11.99 in Waitrose also Lanson champagne £12.99 for New Year0

SallyD wrote:ALDI La Boulangerie Baguettes 2 for 39p pop into oven and in a few moments lovely fresh bread. - vacuum packed and keep for ages in the cupboard, no excuse to run out of bread....far better than Tesco,Morrisons and the like.
Bought some of these today (the 4 small ones for 39p actually) and cocktail sausage rolls.
Hopefully they will be as good as the Lidl ones I had before.
Picked up some Steak pies which were half price (3 for 64p) and was quite impressed with the one I had tonight. If it's not a bargain, it's not worth buying0 -

I'm addicted to Pepperoni Pizzas, the Co-op do 'Goodfellas' which are brill, but unless they are on promotion, (2 for £3.00) they are expensive. I have a Netto really close, which is organised chaos, and an Aldi about half a mile away.
Do either of these stores do a tasty, thin based crispy job with generous toppings?
Also, do Netto do Bratwurst, and if they do, are they any good.
Interesting thread this.
Yesterday had pepperoni pizzas in Iceland for 50p in theireSALE freezers!
Also McCartney vegie sausages 50p0
