Excellent first post Chris - I don't often try Aldi, but I'll keep my eye out for some of those things next time.
And welcome ;-)0 -
Not sure if this on to ask here - please be kind if not!
I am in need of a favour - my son recently did some modelling for Netto and after weeks of waiting the brochure that he's in is out.
Unfortunately we don't live anywhere near to a Netto - I'd love to get a few of the brochures for Grandma etc so she can see her grandon posing with a keyboard!
If anyone livees near to a Netto store and wouldn't mind picking up a few copies - offers for Thursday 24th - he's on the 2nd page with a keyboard. I will of course refund your postage if ypu could send them, to me.
Please PM if anyone can help - Ta!

I'm in there on friday and can pick a few up for you if they still have them?0

Lidl - buy the ingredients for this 'posh' dinner -
pasta bows or spirals
jar sun-dried tomatoes
jar pesto
premium ham
Cook pasta as per packet, stir in cut-up ham and tomatoes, then stir in pesto. Season to taste. Tastes expensive - easily a dinner party dish!0 -
Thanks for the comment about UK Stella.
I was drinking a can, bought from Netto, whilst reading it.
Somebody on this forum said that Aldi Sainte Etienne WAS Stella under an Aldi branding. I don't think that this si true. As well as a different taste the quoted strengths are different too.0 -
Not sure if I should pass this on -you might get hooked like me & my partner but...............................Lidl do these amazing crisps - Knights Hand Cooked (79p but sometimes 59p ) + they're the best I've tasted -EVER! Even better than those "Kettle Chips". There are 3 varieties but the balsamic vinegar ones are fab. The label says all natural ingredients but I'm convinced there's some hidden addictive ingredient 'cos you just have to eat the whole packet!0

If anyone is buying a goose from lidi it will only be enough for two.0

Lidl's do a Baileys type drink for about £4.99, sorry I can't remember the name, tried it yesterday at my mums. She had put it in a Baileys bottle just to see if I could taste the difference, I really couldn't tell. It tasted just the same, if anything we thought it may be not quite as thick as the original but both were 17% vol. I've tried other Baileys copies and not like them at all they are usually too sweet and sickly for me.0

An IDEA - do you think we could create a XLS file with a list of what good to buy from these three stores. I have already written a very rough xls list though excluding all non-veg items, and most of it is cut and paste and set in different item catorgories. Not sure if we can add xls attachments on Martins site though?0

It should do 4 easily, and if you're doing a meal with lots of 'extras' could even do 6.
Do remember to keep all the fat that renders off it, (brilliant to roast your potatos in).0
