Oooh those mini jaffa cakes are addictive aren't they? They should come with a warning! :rotfl:

I have "third" this. Theya re VERY NICE!
  • Lidl
    Buy: Practically everything!!
I have been confronted by food snobs who go all squemish at the thought of "down market" SUPERmarkets!!
I agree though Lidl Baked Beans are an acquired taste - which I haven't acquired yet. Too sweet I think.

Cornflakes are brill and especially good for the children who are amazed at the super size and exciting shapes you can find!

    Meat - yes
Veg can be hit and miss
    bacon - yummy
Blue packet of 12 sausage rolls from the fridge section - delicious
    Garlic bread to die for
39p bars of schogotten chocolate (spelt wrong probably) but very good for the price.
Nappies are good value for money and don't seem to cause any skin problems

BIG TIP - if you're one for Actimel type drinks try their version - I've only had the orange flavour not the natural but it is a ridiculously low price compared to these other brands and you get a slightly bigger drink. Still reckon it does the same job too!

    Tomato sauce/Salsa dips and chips
    Cakes
    Cheap biscuits
    Bin Bags
    Batteries
    Washing powder W5 is good

I could go on, but I'd end up listing everything!

If you haven't tried Lidl yet - PLEASE DO - You're worth it!! :T
  • Lidl's

Do buy nappies - great value ( 50 for 5.29) , fit well and don't smell like pampers/ huggies when they are wet

Also - cheese, twix rip off's, oats, bixes ( not the other cheaper nasty ones!), cheese, fruit juice, tuna, tomatos, pasta, eggs, bread flour, frozen fish, mayo

    Don't buy
    Bread mixes - very salty
Nappy wipes - Sainburys value pack is cheaper I think

Aldi, don't buy canned tangerine, they taste horrible.
Do buy Black forest ham and creamy yogurts (fools) for £0.35 a pop.
Five exclamation marks the sure sign of an insane mind!!!!!

    Terry Pratchett.
  • Electrics at Aldi & Netto are "spot on"--& cheap !!

Ihave had dvd recorder, loads of electric tools. £34 bagless vac etc. etc.

The computer I am on at the moment is one I got at Netto--no problems.

Good warranties on their stuff too !
  • Lidl

Milbona Butter - almost half the price of Lurpac and just as good

Aldi sells strawberries (Scottish) at £1.39 for a large punnet checked in ASDA today £1.99.

Netto also got some fab offers on chocie for XMAS 2 x 1kg tins of quality street for £10 ( £7.48 each in sainsburys/asda)

Tin of Terry's chocolate orange 962g for £4.99 just eating mine now. v good value and loads more bargains on selection boxes (cadbury's) :T
  • Cheddar cheese from Lidl is so much better than Tescos. Even my OH commented on it and he never notices that type of thing!

Aldi's fresh decaff coffee is only 99p and tastes great.

Also the 2 in 1 washing powder is great value.

My daughter and I both love Lidl's fruit loaf.....very moreish.
No idea how many £2 coins as they are in a big tin.....but at least £20 since Christmas. :j
