Yes, but that's not very useful unless you tell us which store it's from!

OH uses the Lidl Cologran sweetener all the time - not very sweet so uses 4.

Lidl wafer thin ham is excellent as there is no added water. So you are not getting the slimy stuff sold elsewhere.
    Formil liquid wash is brilliant.
Batch loaves are good (both sorts).
Dry cider is actually dry not semi sweet like most.

Currently on offer is Italian ice cream (5 varieties) at £1.29 tub. The chocolate & vanilla is lush.
The Bourbon vanilla ice cream is also delicious.

Ah that's the name. I find it has a bitter aftertaste. I made a cup of tea with it and it was horrible. I tend to use Canderel now or even Splenda.

We tried some Aldi baked beans the other day, absolutely revolting, I couldn't even eat what was on my plate and will NOT be opening the other tin! the Morrisons cheapo ones are much better. I actually tried making my own from scratch this week, much tastier than any tinned ones and so much cheaper too.

  • Agree - Aldi beans are nasty.
Take a gamble and try the Lidl ones - they are my favourite bean bar none!

Anyone wanting proof that Aldi can compete with the big boys.

59p bottle will last us months, you need so little of it to do a decent wash up.
Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:

I'm a fairly recent convert to Aldi. As a busy working mum, I do eat a lot of convenience foods but these have shot right up in price lately. It was getting to the stage where I was spending over £100 per week in the supermarket with a big £80 shop, and then £20 throughout the week.

I went to Aldi on Bank Holiday Monday and got five bags full of food for £54! Apart from forgetting loo roll, I haven't had to make another trip to the supermarket. Salad (pre-packed in a plastic bowl) is still fine to eat today..I'd never have got a ready made salad from Morrisons that would last four days.

Both my lads adore the Fisherman's Pie, which I think is 89p or maybe 99p.

I'm definitely going to make Aldi the focal point of my shop, and only use Morrisons for anything I can't buy from Aldi.

Why did Aldi have to ruin an excellent bottle of red wine (Baron St Jean at £2.99) by adding damson and cherry to the flavour. Yuk. It was perfectly ok before.
