I've started to buy the frozen garlic. Used to always buy fresh and then spend ages peeling and blending to freeze. Works out slightly more expensive, but, tbh, life's too short! I use it almost every day and a box for a pound or so will last me at least a couple of months. Def time saving if nowt else. Sometimes I would buy the fresh and not get round to freezing and it would end up shrivelling and drying up, so it was false economy.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These

I buy the Dorot frozen garlic, frozen ginger and frozen chilli.
I used to buy fresh, but i kept wasting money as they would go off by the time i needed to use them again.

Another vote for Very Lazy Garlic. I sometimes freeze the contents in ice cube trays if I think that the jar has been open for a while.
I just add a cube when making soups etc. (I prefer to add garlic towards the end of cooking as I think pre-frying sometimes gives a chemical-type flavour. The beautiful thing about learning is nobody can take it away from you.
Thanks to everyone who contributes to this wonderful forum. I'm very grateful for the guidance and friendliness that I always receive from you.

I often buy the Gia garlic puree (about 79pence) in case I run out of fresh, but I do keep copious amounts of fresh garlic on the shelf too. I use so much garlic that I do run out frequently!
I love the huge garlic bulbs my parents bring me back from France a few times a year, and I went to Asda last week and they had nets of about 7 bulbs and they were a good size too. I made Chicken and 40 cloves with a net for supper one night last week and it was delicious!"A cat can have kittens in the oven, but that don't make them biscuits." - Mary Cooper

Most garlic puree I've bought has contained a lot of salt and has affected the taste of my cooking, so I stick with fresh.0

I usually buy bulbs of fresh garlic and blitz it in my handheld processor, then drench it in oil and store in the fridge in a jar. It stays good and fresh like this for about 3 weeks provided the oil completely covers the garlicProud to be dealing with my debts!0
