If I run out of fresh garlic then I am happy to use the tube of garlic from my local shop. I do use about double the recipe says..........it doesnt seem as strong as fresh garlic. but, needs must and tube garlic is better than no garlic!0

I now buy frozen chopped garlic from asda - 150g for about 64p and seems to last for ages.0 -
I got a big bag of garlic bulbs from Chinese supermarket, what I didn't use, went in the freezer whole. i just break off as many cloves as I need and the skins rub off as a bonus. Freezing doesn't seem to have altered flavour as far as I can tell."We could say the government spends like drunken sailors, but that would be unfair to drunken sailors, because the sailors are spending their own money."

It tastes of garlic ...not as good as fresh, but not bad. One small teaspoon would be about the same as a large clove of fresh garlic.0

I bought a few jars of something similar from Approved Food a while back. I add it to anything which requires fresh garlic. There's no discernible difference in taste to the real thing.0
