it wont taste of vinegar, citric acid doesnt have a vinegar taste to it
minced garlic is great, and there will be littel difference in taste to that and fresh garlic
is it like little granules, or a paste?
the paste will make a dish like spag bol appear cloudy, the granule type wont
fry it off as you would fresh garlic0 -
Hi jenster,
Apparently the vinegar will evaporate and doesn't affect the taste of the dish. You can read more about it on this thread:

I'll add your thread to that one later to keep the replies together.

I buy Asdas own style of lazy garlic and use this in everything that requires fresh garlic.I must admit I also have the shops own version of lazy chillis to

I always have lazy garlic and lazy ginger - i keep chillis frozen! So it means if i want to knock something detailed up from scratch (say a curry) i may not actually need to even go to the shop - therefore avoid unecessary spending! Fresh is great of course, but i would be going to the shop an awful lot if i always used fresh. I bought fresh garlic today to make garlic dip NOM NOM!
I don't think it's shameful at all!A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men

I've only just realised you can buy frozen garlic. Like many of you I use garlic nearly every day. I think I pay about 40p for a bulb. The frozen doesnt say how many bulbs are in there but it's 1.48. Which do you use?I'm trying so hard to be thrifty, but it doesn't come naturally. You lot are an inspiration!JUST LOVES THE O/S BOARD0

My best product so far is Very Lazy Garlic.
At the moment I'm usingwhich I got on special offer. (I'd only be made aware of this co. after receiving some free samples from their range with my online groceries)
Fresh bulbs are a pain with the preparation and lasting freshness.0 -
Yes I've seen that before but always past it by cause it was quite pricey over £2 if I remember rightlyI'm trying so hard to be thrifty, but it doesn't come naturally. You lot are an inspiration!JUST LOVES THE O/S BOARD0

I'm another fan of Very Lazy garlic , although it's worth keeping an eye out in the 99p shop as they sometimes have minced garlic. I use it for all sorts of dishes except roasted vegetables when I prefer the whole cloves.0
