We almost ended up at Lapland UK last year, all the dates we could make were unavailaible - after reading the reviews and the opinions of a friend who went - I'm so glad we did'nt waste the money !

If anyone regularly reads hotel reviews (and reviews for Lapland UK - if you do a google search for the review sites), it's very easy to tell the "planted" (positive) reviews - the ones for Lapland UK are glaringly obvious (my OH and myself - could spot them a mile off, many from their opening lines, style of wording, obvious "marketing" jargon, a common style of puntuation and lack of personal reference to their visit or their family/kids are all dead-give-aways) .... have a look and see how many you can spot ?? - it could become a game for MSE members .... ;-)

Total CON; we went last year on the cheap tariff; and it wasn't worth the diesel to get there. It was crap; the kids were expecting a "flight" some chav packed us into a dome with a small screen and played 2 mins of "The Snowman" some flight ! as for the rest Reindeers behind more barbed wire than Colditz; expensive food; waiting for santa and then given the bill for the photos. Don't fall for it read the reviews. A great idea but very badly executed, bite me once shame on you, bite me twice shame on me.

    FORGET IT !!!

On the flipside - we took our son on a day trip to Lapland (the real one!) for £1000 on Christmas Eve a couple of years ago and it was worth every penny, with husky rides, reindeer rides, you could also pet the reindeers, we drove a snowmobiles, went toboganning, the food was gorgeous (eat as much as you like buffet) and the snow was all real.

We booked with Archers Direct and loved every minute of it.

LAPLAND UK IS A TRUE DREAM COME TRUE......

Lapland UK was for families, it's really for the children, its all about the children at Christmas time and for me and my children it was the most wonderful days entertainment.

The children loved the whole experience, from flying with the snowman to making gingerbread men; the toy factory was a treat with the trains and the elves. In between, we played with the huskies, met two real reindeer and frolicked in the snow falling whenever we seemed to look upwards, marvellous.

We wrote postcards from the post office and even posted them to our friends, they could not believe it nor could the children when they saw them two days later. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was special, especially after 4pm as it turned dark and the Christmas lights lit the trees for hundreds of yards into the distance.

Meeting Father Christmas was our highlight and so, so real that I doubt whether we would ever go to another supermarket grotto in my life time and that's at least another 20 years! . We were led to his cabin and inside it was cosy and warm, his home undoubtedly. We were not rushed in anyway and the children were very much spellbound with him. He was so real, so accommodating, so warm, he knew all the answers, it had to be the real Father Christmas Laura said as he knew what she wanted for Christmas and her horses name!

The gifts were of lovely quality and well presented in bags. Overall, we had a truly memorable day.

This wonderful attraction brought home something that money can sometimes not buy for many, many families where the real Lapland would always be just a fantasy until now.

We are so looking forward to this years event at Bewl Water with so many additions, how could it get any better. We have paid quite a bit more money this year but there are so many additons including lunch, an ice rink and more space.

I’ve heard the most expensive tickets are going first as my friend booked nearer Christmas and there was hardly any tickets left already.

We spent nearly £380 in Legoland earlier this year and at the end of the day and we can go there anytime and we did'nt even get any gifts.

I hope this helps people choose.

    Warm regards Dorothy

This has got to be a laplanduk employee! Looking at your website, there still seems to be plenty of availability and I keep being sent emails reminding me to book, all smacks a bit of desperation to me. Suggest you lower the prices next year!

And you were done for legoland, I got my family of 4 to legoland for under £40 of tesco clubcard deals ;):rotfl:

Perhaps if everybody bombards them with emails along the lines of "you must be joking", they may change the prices! (not)

    address?

I've never heard of anything so ridiculous. Legoland lickets on Lastminute.com are £28 per adult and £20 per child. You can also go for "free" with Tesco clubcard vouchers.

Either there are 10 of you in your family and you all eat a lot or you added up your money incorrectly.
