  • As above, post edited!!!
  • My kids would love that but £75 per person?!

I think we will stick with breakfast with Santa at the local garden centre for £10 each!
  • Blimey - I hadn't clicked on the price bit yet!!! As I said in my post - I got there for £75 for all THREE of us last year!!! At least I think I did - there's no way I'd have paid £75 each that's for sure!!!

I deffo won't be going this year then!!!
  • £75 for the family is a lot more reasonable! :D
  • Yep, was deffo £75 for all of us - (well £77.50 actually) but I just found the old conf email!

We went last year, it cost a bomb to take DD1 and stepson, plus me and OH, with DD2 in tow who we didn't have to pay for as she was a baby. DH was quite impressed by it, but I found it too much of a rip off to be very tempted to go again. The kids enjoyed the father christmas bit, but at 4 and 9 they weren't taken in by the snow and certainly not by the "flight" to get you there. I thought they really missed an opportunity with that, could have used a flight simulator or something - instead you all walked into a tent and stood inside while they projected the snowman onto the wall, then when it finished, you filed out again having supposedly completed your flight to Lapland!! Hope they've sorted that bit out for this year as it was pretty carp.

Also this year it has been moved from Bedgebury pinetum which is always quite a magical location, to a reservoir location nearbyish. Not sure how well it will translate to the new location as the snow covered forest was pretty magical. We only live down the road, but I did wonder what people who had travelled from further afield would have thought re value for money.

Sorry to put a bah humbug dampener on it, it was a nice day, but not as good as I'd hoped.

I can't believe that price. I wish I went last year now. How can they justify hiking the prices up approximately 4 times the price they were last year - you may as well pay the extra and go to Lapland proper.

I am really disappointed, I was intending to go, but not for that amount of money.

Perhaps if everybody bombards them with emails along the lines of "you must be joking", they may change the prices! (not)

Went last year, it was a " not worth the money, go once but never again" type event. The "flight" thing was a complete farce.

Noticed that they have moved site (planning issues again??) and added a meal and an ice rink, but I think something is missing, goes to show how memberable it was! but the price hike is silly.

Having been to this and Disneyland Paris at Christmas, the kids liked Disney a lot more than LL UK there is far, far, far more to do and see.

I checked the price for 20th Dec, £85 each (thats £21.25 per hour for the 4 hour event) as against Disney on the same day £41 adult and £33 child for a 1 day hopper i.e. both parks for a whole day.

Its obvoius where I would go if I had to make the choice again

The big difference between this year and last year is that they are now including a 2 course meal, which doesn't appear to be optional, hence the price hike.

Last year the only thing we paid for was a coffee for me and OH as we were so blimmin cold. Other than that we just took some snacky bits with us and made sure everyone had a hearty lunch before we went.
