my son daniel, asked for some money to go to the shops, and as he rarely asks for money, and as he has been good all week, i gave him some, and off he went to the shop.
when he came home he presented me with a box of maltesers, telling me how much he loves me, and thanking me for looking after him in the school hols.
made my day, and made me feel special

    wow, what a thoughtful boy!
You are one lucky mum :T
  • Hi all

Tiff thank you for the huge reply to my post. Well I did my three days at work and then the wek just gone I had a weeks leave. DH and I rented a chalet by the seaside and had a lovely time. We (and this is probably going to sound absolutely stark raving bonkers) have decided to start trying for a baby. Chances are it won't happen for us (I was told that it would be very difficult to conceive naturally) but we have decided if it happens then it is meant to be.

Yesterday when I was packing the car up to come home, I fell over and have wrenched my back and have a stonking bruise on my arm cos I was carrying a wooden box and landed on it.

I go back to work on monday. still wont have any systems access but I imagine they'll find some work for me to do. I have decided that I need to find a new job. Will hopefully find something before the year is out.

    KL.

Hey peeps - Just to say I have edited this post guys. Reasons at bottom of the post. The last thing I meant to do was cause friction - sorry. I think the edited version shows more clearly what I meant to say. I'll be on the naughty step. xxx
    Hi merlot!:hello:
How are you today? Thank you for posting.wink.gif I read your post with interest hun...

....I can see from reading this thread for months that some of you don't want any help but some of you want to dwell on the fact that you have a mental illness, no one can help you unless you are open to new research.

I agree that no-one should be rude to anyone else, merlot.action-smiley-033.gif There is nothing wrong with healthy debates and opinions.wink.gif
My thoughts on some of the the phrases you used were that they may be seen by some as being a little abrasive tbh, hunnie, and I just wanted to make a couple of observations.wink.gif

    - It's not necessarily so that some of us ''don't want any help'', merlot - it may be looked at that their illnesses actually prevent them from taking advantage of all the help available, or that they have had a negative experience of the suggestion, or that they don't have good insight into, or understanding of, their illnesses.
    - Nobody here, in my humble opinion, ''wants'' to dwell on the fact that they have a mental illness. With some illnesses and with different people, it can take over your life and be all-consuming. Sometimes people dwelling on their illness is actually a part of the illness itself hunnie.
    - People feel comfortable enough here to express their feelings and it may be the only place that they have to come to do so, which can make it seem like they are dwelling on their illnesses.
    - I'm so sorry to read that your sister suffered from severe depression, merlot. I'm sure it's given you some very valuable insight. I know it can cause family members great distress. But, depression takes on many forms and people's personalities and experiences are all different - that's why there's no blanket cure for it.
    - Witnessing depression and living with someone's depression, (which is so very difficult I know), has the same comparison difference as seeing an accident happen and being in an accident.

    - In every walk of life, we are constantly being told that something is either very good or very bad for us. New research is important, I agree merlot.action-smiley-033.gif
However, history is full of slightly dead people who decided to experiment on themselves.biggrin.gif Let's leave the research to the professionals until it has been thoroughly tested.wink.gif Even seemingly basic or 'natural' medications can be fatal to someone who doesn't know how a herbal remedy, for example, might react with their other medications.
Please guys - always see a professional before you make any changes to you regime.
I'm sure people only post here with the best of intentions to help and people here do appreciate that.action-smiley-033.gif:)

Thanks for your post, merlot. I hope all is well with you hun and that you're enjoying the weekend.sLo_hug2.gif

You are more than welcome angel sLo_hug2.gif - it's about time I got back to doing some proper Tiffing instead of just the constant feline pics and hellos.rolleyes.gif
I hope your back and bruises are healing kl - that sounds like such a nasty fall.
It sounds like the seaside break was just what you needed and I'm glad all was well with DH too. I'm so pleased you sound brighter than you were hun and to see you making decisions to help yourself at work. I can tell that you are an extremely strong lady and another true survivor. You should feel really proud of yourself hunnie.action-smiley-033.gif
Good luck with the stork event kl - fingers crossed for you.wink.gif I'm sure you have thought this through. Just be careful not to add too much more stress to what's already been a difficult situation. Keep us posted angel and take care of yourself.sLo_hug2.gif
