  • Hello all,

I'm finding it very difficult to be motivated at the moment. I'm weepy, I know there are things I need to do but actually DOING them is the difficult part. How do you motivate yourself to do all the things your afraid of?

My brother is playing mind games again. He irritates me (jokes about things like me being uptight with people, nervous when I go out, etc), and then as soon as I tell him to stop it and go away, he twists it and says things like 'there's so much anger in you... how can one person be so hateful' and walks out with a sort of smug satisfaction that he's managed to make me feel bad. It happens every night. Then in the morning he is as nice as pie and tries to joke on with me - I dare not confront him about it as it just causes another arguement. If I just ignore him entirely, we'll end up not speaking for months (which has happened many times before - and neither of us end up apologising). There's no winning :( Sometimes I think my family and I are on entirely different planets...

Sorry for the rambly, miserable post. I'm not having a very good day at all.

That photo put me off my tea!

Think yourself lucky you haven't seen my flatmate's underpants - especially when he's wearing them ...
  • Lost, I take it you live in the same house as your brother? Could you move out? Some people are master manipulators and always manage to make you seem in the wrong.

Motivation ... hmmmmm, not that good at it myself ...

Who I am is not important. What I do is.
  • Look, there is only so much underpant-related trauma one can take ...

Hiya, dont be sorry coz your not ramblying, sounds like we have the same brother. Luckily we dont live together but sometimes I dread him coming over, he puts me down and always goes on how I have to pull myself together, how I need to let go of the past and have to stop being so angry all the time. When I try and respond he says he isnt being horrible, he calls it constructive critisism(sp)-now I say to myself-whatever in my mind. He has backed off a bit now luckily.hhmm sometimes I think there was a mix up in the hospital when I was born but nope there wasnt...I try so hard sometimes with them...Hugs xx
