  • Miro, you can't 'end it all', there will always be cats who need you. I know it sucks when the powers that be don't accept your illness, but maybe you can find a way of working with your difficulties, and earning some money. I'm trying to do just that.

If you try the Citiznes advice again and ask them to refer you somewhere else, they might. You may have a flatmate but he doesnt pay your bills, he pays his way and thats all. Maybe your gp can refer you some where. I have a lot of debts and will do for years, till Im an old granny which isnt far off lol but most of them I pay the minimum of a few pounds a month as thats all I can afford. I would not of had those debts had I not allowed ds's dad to take advantage of me but its a lesson and one i have learned.
I was away when you probaly posted, went to see my mum.
Im sorry about your daughter, I wasnt aware, Im sorry if I upset you.
I hope you have a good week.

    hi all

mixed news still trying to work out if happy or not.

spoken to senior boss today they guarantee my hours but not my area of work. so have moved me to new dept when i go back.
all my friends work in other dept so i suppose fresh start but would have preferred just for beginining to go back to old area to get my confidence back. been off since april.

spoke to union they say i should be back in old dept but am not upto all the hassle and if you get union involved the old prejudices still stand.

Oh, I don't know if i'll want new cats once mine go. Not sure if I could try to get close to any more.

This is what i'm thinking right now. Rather than do this placement, I may as well do something that also makes me unhappy, but at least I get a little money for it. It seems this placement is just free labour and about others meeting targets :o
  • My question is how do you manage things? If I don't return to work we lose our house, we won't be able to provide for the boys. life gets even worse! Im in a vicious circle
You are right. lose your job and things are worse than if you dont so what do you do? You act. I will reveal one trick good salesmen use to get on with you. salesmen need instant rapport because first impressions count when you interact face to face with customers. Just the same as when I meet a new customer for the first time. I have to get on with them whether I like the look of them or not.
The acting is simple. I just think of a person I really love as I say Hello to them and that way you send out nice subconcious signals. Now applied to work this can really upset the applecart if you hold your head up and walk slowly but purposefuly into work and with a big smile say "hi its great to be back". Use this tactic to get on with management as they are the ones who make life hell or not. If you get on really well with management then its harder for them to dump on you. The clever part is that no one will ever know why they like you but they just do.
Who I am is not important. What I do is.

I may have to ask Citizens Advice.

Flatmate is a she and she pays her halves etc like you say, but can't help me and wouldn't ask. Can GP's refer?

I too have lots of debts. I just want to get out of debt and pay for some medical treatment I need. That and find someone who can see beyond my face :o

My daughter and partner died some years ago. You didn't upset me. Sorry if it came across like you did - my wording leaves alot to be desired :o

I've got to decide whether I am to continue this placement. It's not working for me and i'm no better off financially either. In fact, next week, because of the placement, I could be worse off. I was told I could do this placement, no pressure, then I get e-mails about jobs, phonecalls and now this medical, a month earlier than I was told. Not happy :(
