Hi miro!:hello:
How are you angel? I'm sorry that you've got a cold still hun......maybe it's worth stopping by the vets yourself and getting checked up?
'Tis the season for all things sneezy I know, but if you've had a cold for quite a while, you should check in with the dr, hunnie.Don't worry miro - I know you don't like drs but they won't *neuter* you, I promise.
I'm sorry to hear pusscat has got a poorly eye. I am also surprised that you can't get more assistance from the PDSA. There's a lot of wonderful work going on but there seems to be an even greater number of cats who need it. How about going along and just registering the one for now and then one at a time, as and when the need occurs? At least that means that the one with the poorly eye can get it checked out.
My immediate thought is to approach the charity that you adopted them from and ask them for help with the vets fees. As with any kind of financial assistance in life, it'll be like pulling teeth, but I'm sure they will appreciate an owner who has lovingly cared for 5 cats and that it will be even more of a drain on financial funds if they have to take a cat back.
With this RSPCA link, I've also posted a quote here from the laws covering cat welfare from their site, but you should read through it to see if that's any use hunnie. If it's a case of helping financially against rehoming a cat, you might find them sympathetic because they don't want a cat to suffer, although you'll have to fight your corner as it were.As with people, as long as pusscat is eating and drinking and all is well gastrically, then hopefully it's nothing serious. When my feline friends have had poorly eyes, I've bathed their eye using a cold used teabag soaked onto a piece of kitchen towel roll. Don't ask me where I got that nugget of information from, 'cos I can't remember. One piece of advice though, please don't saturate your light-coloured cat with the cold tea or you will end up with a ginger cat!
Hoping you and pusscat get better soon, hunnie.
Much Love,
Tiff xxx
I'll snip the bits I need to respond too.
It's not too bad today thanks
No GP for meAnd no snip
They won't register just the one cat. I should have been more sneaky and said I have just the one. Silly me for being honest
I took the 5 cats from private sale. Very happy with the purchases mind - such fantastic companions for 14 years. Delighted at having such well behaved and loving creatures.
Thanks for the links - I need a good read
No need to re-home by cats  I don't mind paying as long as Mr Vet can sort me out a payment plan. I have a little put aside right now which will cover poorly cats eye at least
Someone told me about the teabag today  I nearly fainted.
Thanks for the advice :T0 -
Oh..........my cat has eyedrops.
We were told she'd hate it and wriggle like mad, but as it turned out, she was no worse than when we clean around her eyes for tear stains and the like.
The second coming is soon...........hope it's the same pain free experience - for the cat and me!0 -
