Tesco Coupon Update (being briefed to staff)

We do not accept damaged, copied or defaced coupons
All coupons can be used on self service checkouts
The Store Manager may use their discretion to refuse coupons if they believe a customer is abusing the policy

    Supplier Coupons:

Issued by suppliers such as coca cola etc
No limit on how many different coupons can be presented
Only one supplier coupon can be accepted per item not purchased
If the coupon does not scan type barcode manually

    Competitors' Conditional Spend Coupon:
We can accept competitor conditional spend coupons from - Asda, Sainsburys, Morrisons, Waitrose, Aldi, Marks & Spencers, Co-op and Boots
Coupon must state its for use in store
For all conditional spend coupons, more than one coupon can be used providing the conditional spend is met, i.e. 2 x £3 off £30 shop, £60 must be spent

    Competitor Product Coupon

eg save 50p on fruit at asda

    We do NOT accept these

    Internet Coupons

Issued by suppliers such as coca cola etc
No limit on how many different coupons can be presented
Only one branded coupon can be accepted per item not purchased
Coupon can be in colour or black & white but must not look like a photocopied coupon
For coupons for the same product, ensure the serial numbers are different
If a coupon does not scan, type barcode manually

    Hope this helps!!

So the coupon policy confirms that only ONE COUPON can be used if not purchasing item.

I understand it to mean one coupon of each brand if you know what I mean. For example one Kit kat Coupon, one Coca Cola Coupon, one Ariel coupon etc. I have just handed over about 10 different types of low value coupons in Tescos tonight without any problem.

My Tesco confirmed yesterday that it is the same as the previous statements.

If you are buying the items, you can use as many as you want, if not, then just one. Its down to interpretation.

They said if it meant one of each, then the second line would say "only one of each different branded coupon can be accepted per item purchased"

Just to say....with regards to the £10 Waitrose voucher in the Mail last Saturday- went to use it today-the lady on the till called someone else, who made a phone call, & was told that because there are no Waitrose stores in our immediate area (near Swansea), they wouldn`t be taking the voucher. A shame, as I had spent a lot of money, & that £10 off would have really helped

red arrow, read my post just above yours, proximity of the rival is not an issue. Go and get that tenner back or send a copy of your receipt and the voucher itself, off to Dundee Customer Services for reimbursement (naming and shaming your store)! :T
Same advice to babyj3 re the top post on this page.

Anyone else about to post in a similar vein, please stop letting some CS staff member who doesn't know the Tesco policy tell you something that's not true. None of this 'oh never mind thanks then' at the CS desk, instead say you are certain it's a national policy and you have it in writing. Still get told no or they phone 'someone' who says no? Then ask them to refer it up the line but stay polite and calm, you WILL get the right answer from someone even if it has to be Dundee rather than your store.

But do give your store a chance, take a copy of the policy posted by hales earlier on this thread, and go back in for the long (but worthwhile) discussion I mentioned in my post 1168.

Hi could anyone tell me the recent £2 OFF £20 COUPONS FOR SAINSBURY'S received through Nectar mailings are acceptable at Tesco....????

Whether Tesco really gets money back for these coupons if I use it...????

Because I want to use it only if Tesco gets the money back for those vouchers......AND NOT IF IT OTHERWISE..........

Generally I prefer to use legitimate coupons I mean not out of date ones though they seem to scan at self check out....

    Thanks,
    idleaver

idleaver, I admire your approach which is the right one, but conditional spend coupons are completely different than nss mocs because they are loss-leaders and are DEFINITELY OK.

Yes Tesco accept them (the Sainsburys ones are the least contentious as most Tesco SAs will see some of these every day).

No they never get the money back on conditional spends as they are not expecting to! Their gain is in taking their competitors' customers and in encouraging you to spend more.

Not using it is a bit like going to John Lewis and not asking them to price match (even though you know of a cheaper competitor and know the JL policy) as you know John Lewis won't get the difference back! You wouldn't feel bad about asking them to price match would you?

P.S. Do use them with confidence. But if you don't want yours I can use them! :rotfl: :rotfl:

  • some of us dont post on "No Chat - Coupon" thread.....

Some of you guys never take note - it states No Chat - but you guys still persist on posting chatting..... on sticky post! & ruined the sticky post unnecessary. When somebody ask a question on "No Chat" & if you dont reply than they stop posting on "NO CHAT". If you keep replying to their post they will keep posting on the sticky thread.

Edited :- R4pture is back up & running

    What is a "sticky" thread?

Sorry don't understand you? When is a thread a sticky thread and when is it not a sticky thread??
