    I've been Money Tipped!
So far today I have done around £30 comfort shopping including wool. Why have I bought wool? I have piles of it, mountains of the stuff, at least a field of sheep's worth. I am so tired, and I have had phone calls from family members for most of the morning along the lines of 'I'm alright, are you alright?' lasting for thirty or forty minutes at a time. I was able to reassure my father that one of his girlfriends had not called me while he was away with one of his other girlfriends. He is 77 in less than a fortnight.

Little bear has been grumbling - that high pitched grumble that trails away that means that he really REALLY wants to be asleep and it's not fair! He has sucked some cheese sandwiches, condescended to be coaxed to have some yoghurt and has spent most of the time between phone calls sitting on my lap.

In the grand scheme of things, especially reading about some of the struggles people posting on here have had, especially those missing close ones, including furry close ones, it all seems so trivial. I just feel a little faded. So I am going to stop sitting here and worrying about whether to go up to little bear and cuddle him or not disturb him so that he gets the sleep he is obviously craving and I am going to go and actually do the ironing I have been wanting to do since I got up.

Evil cat is being really, really clingy and trying to nudge my side through the gap in the chair. With her claws. I think she wants to go out. I am sincerely tempted to let her out as it is raining thoroughly.

    Hugs to all

    Afternoon all.

Happy Birthday to Tired Mum and Miss Diddly.

We got quite a bit done over the weekend, all the grass cut and the front border weeded, and Mr LW has constructed a small ramp to make it easier to get my mobility scooter in and out of its shed. I can do it on my own now, not have to keep asking him to lift it in and out for me!:j :j :j

I don't need to cook tonight, I made a Quorn, cheese and onion quiche yesterday, enough for 2 days.

It seems very hot today, although I suspect it might just be hot flushes:confused: but I do wonder if we're in for a thunderstorm at some point soon.

    Wait and see, I guess.

Have a good day, folks, and a ((((HUG)))) for all who want/need one.

Thanks chums for all your good wishes ,everything went fine with the bone scan this morning and she doesn't want to see me for another year so I am pleased about that .
Youngest DD and I booked up for NEXT years holiday at lunchtime, we are definitely going off to the Isle of Wight next August for a week with the tribe.
Eldest DD arrived for coffee at 2.30.p.m. so the ironing was put on hold for awhile, and bless her she washed my kitchen floor for me as I was getting cross that I can't get down on me hands and knees anymore to do it .I have one of those Swiffer thingys but they're not as good as a proper wash with a cloth and hot soapy water.me knees just wont take it anymore ,still I made the coffee and cake, so she enjoyed them instead.
I am just about to get stuck into the ironing mountain, enjoy the rest of your day everyone
    Cheers JackieO

Just reading JackieO's post there reminded me of when my mother hurt her back and wasn't able to do the kitchen floor. She used to put the damp floorcloth down, move it around with her foot, and Sam the dog would pick it up and pass it to her. No-one taught him to do this, he just started doing it, for some reason!:o

Evil cat insisted on going outside and is now a soggy moggy.

Little bear was being kept awake by a very loud nappy. A change, a big cuddle and most of a banana later and I think he may be finally asleep for a much needed afternoon nap. After all, he didn't get that much sleep during the night.

Phone call AGAIN from my uncle to make sure that it was still raining here.

:mad: Hope if I grit my teeth and hang on little bear will go back to sleep - evil cat complained she was the wrong side of the door and woke him up :mad::mad::mad:

Still no ironing done. I shall go back and look at that lovely picture.

It's no good, I'll go and look after I've settled little bear down.

Afternoon everyone, ((((hugs)))) to those that need or want them, and happy birthday to Tiredmum and Miss Squiggly. And hi to Dazi!:hello:

Fairly quiet in the Alex household today, there was a big row last night which has been brewing for a while.

OH has been motivated to get out and walk round the block twice a day for the last three days, hope that continues as it's good for him. I went with him at lunchtime but had to scurry to keep up as I'm not tall!

I'm really tired today, I think the weather is making me lacklustre. I did a bit of hoeing in the garden yesterday and I have some tomato plants to keep an eye on. Also our second (and final) plum might be ready so I'd better go and check if it's ripe for picking.

    Chin up all! (((more hugs)))

Just wanted to say hello and introduce myself - thought this might be a good place!

I used to frequent the dfw forum - but sort of lost the plot last December when I split up with my husband!
I really need to get my finances in order as I have just taken on a huge mortgage and added extra to it to buy my ex out!

    And i'm still in debt!!!

One of the things I have seen from this forum is how fantastic you all are at cutting food bills!

I have 4 kids - 16, 15, 6 and 4 and work full time permanent night shift and really need to get a grip of my spending - my food bills just seem to be getting higher and higher!

You all seem very supportive and friendly so I will continue to read you threads hoping for ideas and inspiration!

I plan to join the grocery challenge next week and have already started planning by looking to see what I can make from my store cupboard and freezer!

By the way does anyone know what I can make from a box of semolina and tapioca I have in my kitchen - my ex loved puddings but no-one else in the house will touch it???
