planet talk offer free landline to landline calls on evenings and weekends... still no good if you are wanting to make cheaper mobile calls tho' unfortunatly.. but hey can't be too fussy0

1866 and 1899 are constantly busy all weekend in wales too. sometimes in the mornings I can get through but evenings i might as well forget it!I always wanted to be a procrastinator, never got round to it...0

I use CPS (Tele2) for evening and w/end calls, 18866 for peak rate calls - all 01 and 02 nos; 18185 for all calls to mobiles at all times and 1899 for several international calls.
I can only recall having to redial about twice in the last 3 weeks.....a very different experience to many posters here! Maybe I have less of a problem as I do not use 18866/1899 during heavy load periods (when I'm mainly on my CPS)....also 18185 for mobiles helps too (I think 18185 is a less popular routing?).0 -
Spkey - sorry for late reply, I am in the BD postcode area of west yorks and I do not usually have any problems accessing any of these services. I have used 1899/18866/18185 since Sunday with no problem (on BT line).
I use - 18866 - weekday daytime and evening landline calls
Onetel - free weekend landline calls
18185 - all mobiles all the time
via an orchid V4 dialler, which has saved me a packet on my calls.
I also have an account set up for my mum to use 1899 for her calls as she is on NTL and their charges are extortionate.

Hi, my 18866 keeps getting an engaged tone, even when I know the person i'm calling isn't engaged. (ie phone with BT and it's fine)
I can only imagine that perhaps it's because of a busy server or something.....
any ideas?26/09/2017 - Started comping again. Wins so far: 1!

Has anyone else been having more regular problems using 1899 at the weekends. It just used to be now and again when I was having problems. Its now been the last few weekends. Starting to get a real nuisance. I suppose it the system getting overloaded? Am I the only one getting this problem0

Funnily enough, just such a query came up last weekend too - see HERE.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0

Is anyone else having problems getting through using 18866? For the past week or so I am getting an almost constant engaged tone when I try to call using the prefix0

There are a couple of previous threads regarding this, I'll merge your post into it shortly.
edited to say other threads have been merged as this problem with 18866 seems to be ongoing, although I have to say again it seems to be an area capacity problem as I never have problems getting my calls through 18866.0
