  • Meant to say today I will type up a letter to Lloyds re my PPI claim on a loan we had with them. They sent a standard reply saying no and did not actually reply to any of my points raised so I shall be using lots of bullet points to make it as clear as possible why i beleive we were misold. Also off to look for paperwork for a loan we paid of within 18 months of taking out and I am sure we did not get a rebate on the PPI.

  • Okay letter done. Got ref number for other loan but don't have all the paper work so off to do a letter requesting the info.

Although i spent £38 today in Morrisons I did buy a super roasting chicken. We just had it and there is hundreds of chicken left so should do some sandwiches and a curry and some fried chicken and rice over the next few days so well worth the £5. OH laughs at me before my LBM i left all lights on had heating on full blast all year and would never have stripped a chicken bare before. I still slip up on occasions (like the McDs for lunch today) but these are getting fewer.

  • Today I spent £3.36 in Morrisions for a few things i forgot yesterday. I really should read my list.

Got OH MBNA statement this morning and no interest or charges :j. MBNA had told us on the phone that there would be no interest or charges but nice to see it in black and white.

    Good Luck LFTS,
I'm 8 months into CCCS DMP of £60K ( 'K' looks better than all those 000's! ) at £409 per month. 10 cr's are int and charge free, Goldfish screwing me for 5%...praps they're trying to get back some of the 'credit crunch' billions!! Having some major bullying from 1st Credit ( see thread ) but it seems that resilience is what is required...that and support from the 'A' team on these forums.

Whilst I'm here, a little message to C(SH)itifinancial who sold me to 1st Credit....you lost Billions on Sub-prime, good, try the top floor window!!!

  • Thanks pepe2008 for the good luck.

Well today has been a no spend day:j :j Not done anything on the DMP front today. To be honest there is not much to be done. Got to pay Sept payment to CCCS via transcash or whatever it is called but apart from that I have nothing to do. Unless of course the calls and letters start again but fingers crossed they don't.

Have not done much either on the domestic front but I did get one washing on and stripped a bed. Although I did eat a few biccies I love Shorties.

  • Thanks Lodge. Hope all is well with you. I would say it is worth writing to your creditors to lower payments.

    'lo lfts,

stick to your guns and believe in the power of a dmp!
I just complained to the OFT about 1st Credit...they nd more to do so.

Little shopping tip, if you have several different suprmarkets close by, when they have a bogof on essential item buy it until their offer end and then visit the other ones....they often cycle the really good offers around the big stores.
Unfortunately some of us are stuck with just Tesco...the wwhole town, including all the 'neighbourhood stores' (estates) where they are more expensive than big stores!!

  • Hi Pepe2008 Our nearest is Morrisons but within about a 10 min drive there is a biggish tesco and a big Asda. I have been checking online to see who has what offers thankfully I have a large utility room so can stock up on offers.

Today I have had to spend some money but not too bad. I have also come to the conclusion you cant be affraid of the dark when you are trying to save money on everything. I used to sleep with loads of lights on but have stopped now trying to save the electricity. I got my CCCS online password today so I can log on and see how our DMP is going.

OH gets paid next week:j Really runing low on funds so need to watch what we spend but have lots of things to eat in the freezer so only really need butter bread and ham. We get our milk delivered, I know some folk say this is expensive but it has actually kept me away from the shops so is saving money as I really find it hard to stick to lists, i go in for a pint and come out £20 worse off :o .

  • Oh well that's our Gas and Elec going up, knew it would happen. We have only had the heating on once since end of June and not planning on putting it on any time soon. Some days I sit on the sofa with my dressing gown over my clothes it is actually keeping me warm.

On the DMP front we got a statement from Citi they have not stopped charges or interest, they are one of 2 companies we have not heard from re our DMP so going to send of CCA request to them.

Just sitting on the sofa munching some crisps and playing free bingo. Not won anything but it doesn't cost me anything to enter.
