IKEA furniture comes with destructions, but I think that's something to do with the furniture itself.

It's not on the normal Panasonic website yet, but the replacement for the SD255 has been launched. It's called the SD257 and it doesn't look like a significant change, just a better coating and a brioche setting. There's news here and here.

Hopefully the bread pans etc. will be interchangeable between the two, so I could put the tougher ones in my 255.

I bought one of these this week from John Lewis, to replace my cookworks one.

So far I've made a gluten free, a fresh yeast white, a boozy cake and a wholewheat. I've had great results with all of them. I'll be making the brioche at the weekend, so will report back.

I`ve got the SD254 and there are no jam instructions for mine either.

I don`t think that the panny can make it. Only thing that i can think of is to get a jam recipe from someone with a different breadmaker or look online for instructions for other bm`s and try one out.

I always use a huge pan for my jam but would be tempted to try some of the microwave recipes that i`ve seen posted on here in places. I`ve recently seen a recipe for microwave lemon curd and was going to try it to use up some old lemons that i have in the fridge but can`t find the recipe now. Wish i`d bookmarked it :o

My Mum always calls em destructions too :rotfl:

    SD

    Microwave Lemon Curd Recipe

    200g granulated sugar
4 egg yolks beaten (I make meringue with the whites)
Grated rind and juice of 3 lemons
    100g butter

Place butter in a large bowl and microwave on full power for 3 minutes or until melted.

Beat in the remaining ingredients and microwave on full power for 5 minutes or until the mixture has thickened. Note - stop and stir every minute

Put into sterilised jars and label

Lemon curd has a short shelf life but it's barely worth dirtying the jars in our house :)

P.S. I love my pannies, I now have two and use them both. I bought second from a car boot just for the pan but it had never been used and just had a dent in the outer casing so I frequently have them both going, one baking bread and the other making dough (the worn out pan doesn't matter for just dough). I can't recommend them enough.
