I was bought the SD54 one for Christmas 2yrs ago when I went GF for a while as I really wanted a BM. Have hardly used it as the GF loaves always turned out disappointing and the paddle stuck in the bottom of the loaf. Since went back to wheat again a year or so ago thought it was time I used it and eventually got around to it today!
Put it on a basic bake today and the loaf was lovely and light and golden but yet again the paddle stuck in the bas of the loaf
How do I stop this from happening? Does this happen to anyone else?final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -
OH's always moaning about the paddle issue. She says it's worse with French bread than anything else. But her main gripe is getting the loaves out the tin, sometimes they're stuck solid.
The Pannie breadmaker does make lovely stuff tho, if on the pricey side.I no longer contribute to the Benefits & Tax Credits forum.0 -

if the loaf won't come out, let it sit outside of the breadmaker for a bit, then try shaking it out again, that usually works0 -
I know the panasonics are well thought of on here, but in the past i tried the kenwood Bm450,which i liked very much(Preferred it to a panny 254 i had a trial with)...returned it tho cos the massive sticker 3/4 way around it couldnt be removed properly..looked very messy and tacky.
Anyhow,at the time i got a refund cos there were no others in stock..I didnt bother too much cos i still had my Rachel Allen one,but this has only gone and seized up after aprox 10months(just in time for schools/college returning:mad:)
My girls prefer HM to supermarket bread.
I dunno if Argos will repair or refund.(these breadmakers are no longer available)..if they refund i could get another kenwood, but it has gone up in price by £30,I also remember it was quite noisy during the night when on timer(even had the dog up barking a couple of times around 4am),But i remember it made larger loaves and quicker than the panny Sd254/255.
My main questions are,
1)are the new panasonics any quicker.?
2)Do they make larger loaves than the previous models?
Thanks guys.

well, i've bitten the bullet, and bought myself the panasonic 255....i've been using my MR one for years, and i always left out the milk powder as it made the bread too cake-y......do i do the same when i use the panny? leave the milk powder out?
all my loaves always turned out gorgeous with the MR....but i wanted another BM so decided to go with the panasonic this time, so i can have 2 on the go at once!! i'll just be so disheartened if the loaves arent as nice with the panny0 -
Panasonic do not use milk powder in their bread recipes. Good thing too. I used to have a MR and added milk powder. Much better wthout!0
