Panasonic Breadmakers Tips and Quick Questions Thread

After a couple of years of faithful service my SD253 has suddenly started throwing the odd wobbler and will produce a loaf (no matter which setting) that is small, hard and when cut has the texture of a crumpet but is almost raw.
Any ideas what might be wrong? I know it isn't the ingredients as after the first one I double check every time. I also check the paddle turns before I put the stuff in.
As it's an intermittent fault I'm loathe to spend money on replacing just yet. Anyone had a similar problem and was it repairable?0 -
Yes, my 255 has the occasional blip. The first time I thought I'd missed something out but it's happened since - takes some chewing huh?:DPreemie hats 9 :j0

For some reason, having used my breadmaker regularly I fell out of the habit ( not sure why now as the bread was delicious etc ). Anyway I decided to start using it again but can't find the recipe booklet. I've looked everywhere and can't find it. No doubt it'll turn up ( when we next move house Lol!)
Does anyone have the recipe for a basic loaf on a Panasonic breadmaker?

I have some fantastic recipes for bread on ALL machines!!! Firstly just measure how much water your machine takes (to the brim) in CUPS - the US measure.
Then PM me and I'll mail you some bread recipes. Might have to do one a day - screaming kids permitting!!
Happy to help xMe, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx

Thanks to you both. esmf73, know what you mean about screaming kids! Don't know how to PM, but I'll do the measuring thing and investigate further.
Hippychick, I'll also look up this site when I've found the number.

Can anyone help a newbie please? New to this breadmaking lark and have only made two loaves a while ago. I've been made redundant and run out of bread but would like to make some from what I've got in rather than spend money - but I don't have bread (strong) flour - just plain - is this any good or will it just not work?
C xx0 -
Probably won't work, although it's worth trying if that's all you've got.0
-
Thanks - I probably won't bother then as I'll end up wasting the rest of the ingredients.
Thanks0
