  • I am also feeling super stressed with the whole thing! The vendors have told us that if we don't exchange by 29th they are going to pull out. We are atill on the p4p waiting list so it doesn't look like we'll be able to exchange on time. We have had our solicitor email them, hopefully this might get them to speed up!!

They recieved it 16th, when I phoned them today, they were dealing with offers recived on the 14th. For the sake of 2 days I am sure they could squeeze me in some time today. My solicitor is forwarding a letter from the vendors solicitor stating they will pull out if we don't exchange on 29th. I really hope it works!
We've so far spent £2000 trying to buy a house, a first house fell through after we spent £850 on various surveys and solicitors fees, and we've had to spend the same again on this one. If it falls through we can't afford to do this again!!

When was your offer accepted? Have to say I think your vendors are being a little impatient! My offer was accepted back at the end of June so I have been very, very lucky that mine have been so patient!

Fingers crossed everything is now sorted and I should hopefully be exchanging this afternoon!
  • Zoomy and Tek-monkey,

Hang in there guys i was once in that bad place wondering was it all worth it, solicitors cocking up, EA threating to pull out, not happy with deposits etc etc, but i spent a weekend just taking my kids out and doing other things which took my mind of the house buying process and came back with a fresh head on the monday and opened up a can of whoop !!!, and sorted everything out.

At last i have completed and picked up my keys this lunchtime YIPPEE:T:beer::j no more chasing idiots!!! I even fell a £1 short on my deposit and had a phonecall yesterday saying if i didnt pay it my sale would fall through hahaha a £1 for heavens sake, complete accident so i told them if you had bothered to even do your job properly 2 weeks ago you would of spotted this error when i transferred the money into your account then. (Optima idiots) so had to transfer a £1 today then an hour later was allowed to go and collect my new house keys:T

try and keep some confidence in the system guys, you`ll be there soon.

Thanks sideslipmike. I feel a lot better today, as I've stopped chasing them. I've not given up, I've just given up caring. Will see what my funding cutoff date brings.
  • Congratulations sideslipmike.
We got our keys today too. Woohoooo. I can not believe we are homeowners now. We had problem with oh's signature as the one on mortgage deed didnt match with the signature on his passport. So I had to call him home from work for him to sign change of signature form and send via email. I am waiting 2 of my friends to come over to give me a hand to clean the house.
Hang in there people. Believe me it happens.
And to helloapril. Our solicitor send an email to p4p when our vendors told us they wee going to pull out too if we didnt exchange sometime last month too because they were going to holiday. It was the next day which was saturday p4p called me saying they are processing it. I reckon they will do yours too in no time. Good luck.

Congrats to all those who have got the keys recently! and yes to everyone else do hang in there because it happens eventually

I moved in about a week ago and it's pretty exciting-still in a state of chaos mind you!

    good luck everyone:beer:
  • I feel a bit better now after reading these reply's. I shouldn't complain really as our offer was only accepted 6 weeks ago. We are just becoming impatient as our first purchase fell through (had offer accepted on that one end of May) so have been waiting 5 months to move!
I know the vendors are pushing the sale as they too had an offer fall through and are desperate to sell the house - some might say it would be a good opportunity to lower the price, but in all honesty I couldn't be bothered with the extra hassle!

Congratulations to all who now have their new homes - we should hopefully have our in a week or two!

Oh - quick question - After the 7 day cooling of period, when can you exchange?
