I have a 50% share but want to staircase to 100%. I'm currently on 1% above base on the mortgage part. I wanted to buy the rest, but the mortgage company said I need 20% deposit on the whole flat, which means I need 26K! Has anyone else encountered this problem?0

Hi
Which scheme are you referring to? The scheme under discussion here is the ownhome scheme. Participants do not pay interest for the first 5yrs and as far as I know, it hasn't been around for that long so no one should be paying interest at this point.
Having said that, I think the bank will require a deposit if you are buying 100% of the property.Debts at  moment £31,500
