  • Hi Zoomy congrats on getting your keys:j

hopefully your gradual moving in goes better than my manic friday/saturday move in haha.

Number is 17070, then it should give you 2 options!!

1st is dial 2 for the quiet line test, and after about 5 mins or longer it SHOULD (according to BT) give you the number orginally used there!! It never with mine but the fact i was able to prove that it worked seemed to scare BT enough and suddenly oh look we`ve found your line tah-dah haha

Option 2 is dial 3 if your a telephone electrican and you hit in codes for certain types of phone cable your using.

So again dial 17070, then hit number two on your keypad for the 1st option and then sit and wait for a reply from the automated service, fingers crossed you get something

BTs words where if you have a dial tone on your line then they will connect you free of charge!!

No dial tone means setting up a new line even if you have phone sockets already fitted in your home

Hope this helps dude, and it only took 3 days to get connected, and internet another 3 on top so not bad really
  • what is wrong with solicitors !!! Seriously .... I was told last week that the vendor had signed his agreement and I had to sign mine asap.. so that is what I done... I went to my sol firm directly and signed the agreement on the same day there and then !! My sol said all he was waiting for was 2 more enquiries coming back and would def exchange on 30th .... Well that didn't happen. Sol had yet another day off yesterday so couldn't find out what was going on then. Today now my solicitor has assured me that we will be exchanging tomorrow at the latest .... and that the vendor is going to his sol office tomorrow to sign his agreement !!!! So not quite sure who is lying... either EA for telling me that the vendor had signed or the vendors sol !!!!

If I don't sign tomorrow that I cant complete on the 13th when I want to !!! They better make sure we exchange tomorrow or else !!!!!!!!
  • this is quite funny now... NOT !!! EA just phoned to say that vendor had sent his signed agreement this morning and that his sol will have it this afternoon !!!!

    I BELIEVE NO-ONE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ..

I just called my sol, and found out she's left the practice! Luckily her secretary knows whats happening, but was a shock. Also had to phone p4p, as my funding runs out tomorrow. They're keeping it open for a little longer for me, which I am extremely grateful for.

An extension, council don't hold documents back far enough and lender got a bit funny about it. Trying to get an indemnity now.
  • okay i must be the most unlucky person, but since ive started this process ive had nothing but snags, chasing up people, keeping on top of people etc etc!!

For those who have just completed and have there mortgage with Co-op please please please ensure they have your 1st payment set-up for the correct date!!

I completed on the 20th October, and i was expecting my 1st payment to be on the 1st November, that was too include those last days of October, Novembers mortgage payment & the set-up fee of the Co-op account.

However i rang up yesterday enquiring why hasn`t any money being taken?

Firstly ~ they tried taking money from the Co-op account i set-up with them (which you had too) on the 1st November however there was no funds!

Secondly ~ i explained well i signed a document you (Co-Op) sent to me for a direct debit instruction for money to be transferred from my wages account to your Co-op account for the mortgage payment, there answer was we have no record of this!!!!!!

Thirdly ~ After challenging this amount believing its incorrect a few calls later today and being transferred around the switch-board i find out that the payment should of been set-up for the 1st December, this would include 2 months payments (Novembers & Decembers) + the remaining days of Octobers and the set-up fee, but they never seen it before where they tried to take this amount so quickly!!!

SO ladies and Gents please ensure you get them to clarify exactly when your 1st payment is, how much exactly it is and that you have a standing order set-up from your wages bank account to your mortgage account

And finally one more DRIP (haha) again for those who have completed and dealt with Optima, has anyone had there deeds sent to them yet?? or there final registration done as i have checked my checklist on optimas website and they still have not completed the last 2 tick boxes??

hope this helps anyone, and it does not happen to you.

Quick question, if I get a 5 year mortgage deal then go for another 5 year fix after, does this count as a remortgage? As in, do I need to pay back p4p at this point? I almost lost my mortgage today, as its been 3 months. I have a 2 week extension, after that I lose my 10 year fix :(
  • Sideslipmike thanks for that... however not sure when I am going to complete now. Was suppose to exchange today at the very last and was guaranteed this until my solicitor found out from the vendors solicitor that there are 2 more people on the chain which no-one knew about !!! Well I find that hard to believe!!! And to make it worse 1 of the people on the chain doesnt even have a mortgage offer !!!!!! Omg I dont know what to do or think now... Im soooo angry with everyone and to top it off Im gonna be homeless in less than 3 weeks cause my landlady has sold her flat and needs me out !!!!

Gonna be a waiting game now and see what the next few days bring but I cant believe it !!

    ARrrrrggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh !!!!!!!
