barginfinder i too have the same aim, get debt free to move house and start a family hehe, this subtotal at the bottom is only credit debt not loans so i have a huge wack to pay but i was sick of looking at the loooming figure it made me feel fed up now i feel better just looking at this one hehe we can do this girl !! my oh sounds like your oh wanting to give all the time... he bottled all the debt up and then broke down i was a biatch at first i couldnt believe i had to postpone my wedding now im so grateful and we are much closer in the end love is all that counts not fancy gifts :d and im happy on my dfw journey wooo wooo xxThe loans will pay themselves the credit cards need a kicking :money: DFW Long haulers supporter 132!!:T0

It's great isn't it, realising you can work as a team, and it's encouraging knowing you guys will start your life 'together' debt free! Well done you! My subtotals earlier are without our £7500 loan (gulp), as I thought the same as you, loans will pay themselves as it's a monthly direct debit - the cc are enough to worry about!!Personal challenge: Do without as much as possible to pay off £12k by 07/2009!!!:T
Bluejeans Challenge: Spend less - Eat less! Need to lose [STRIKE]4 [/STRIKE] 2.5 stone () then maintain until my concert in Dec!!

Exactly .... one step at a time as i reddue the credit card debt i will start to add the loans to my signiture but just now i like looking at the low amount i have an oveall subtotal of 53 k but that doesnt include the home owner loan another small stepping stone.... we plan toget debt free by dec 2012..... if we can do it before then woo hoo.....but im going to devise something like panda did some squares with all the debt payments in ..... we shall see ehThe loans will pay themselves the credit cards need a kicking :money: DFW Long haulers supporter 132!!:T0

That's a good idea - I love that sort of thing but dh hates it lol. So I just keep a mental picture in my head. I think it helps that I'm not the one who got us into debt, so I dont feel as responsible; or that I have to be as severe... but then other days it feels like it's me that's suffering, working full time not part time, so I just want to get it paid ASAP!! Dec 09 for us, so not that far away really:)Personal challenge: Do without as much as possible to pay off £12k by 07/2009!!!:T

Out mortgage goes up in April :S We've been paying interest only, in Apr it goes up to repayments as well, and we pay £80 maintenance charge on the flat, so probably as cheap to move really!! I know, I used to know a lady who said "I'm happy when I've got enough to make ends meet, but I like enough to tie a knot in the middle" lol - ends meet is a good month for me!
My younger sis is sensible (puke;-) she has £2000 in the bank and wasn't sure whether to spend on the theme park next week or take a picnic. I'm really happy for her, wish I'd been that sensible lolPersonal challenge: Do without as much as possible to pay off £12k by 07/2009!!!:T

lol, I really honestly would, except that although I love my sister to bits, we have been through the mill together and she has issues with trust and men etc... if I was to tell her what DH has done, I think it would break her heart. Also he hates the thought of anyone knowing, so have agreed for his sake to keep it between me, him and my mum (who mediated when I found out, so couldn't keep it from her) I think if we had both gone down the path and everyone knew then I would, but in our case, we are determined to do it ourselves and not have anyone know how much trouble we are in... not pride as much as knowing our family would never be able to look at us the same way again!Personal challenge: Do without as much as possible to pay off £12k by 07/2009!!!:T

Thanks for all the suggestions, and special thanks to you Dee, I have pmd you.
I did look up offers, which is why we chose to go to Chessington, yesterday Sky Perks had it on bogof.. however I went back on today and it had changed to Kids Go Free (no use to us!!) I thought I was going mental for a while.... maybe I am and I was seeing things yesterday!!!
Being a true mser I have spent the last hour typing in google searching for cheaper options/offers, as I am so frustrated that the Sky deal is gone!
Also there are 3 of us, so if I get a bogof voucher 2 tickets on bogof for my sisters, I was wondering whether I have the bravery to offer to split the ticket price with a random stranger who is there paying full price......:rotfl: Anyone else ever attempted this??? Do you think I should???
Hi Bluejeans , Jo I love that you're keeping up with my thread, and you are very welcome to post whatever you want! Without your thread, I dont think I would have had the guts to start one of my own:T
xx
Speak

Hello everyone!
I am loving work these days, as everyone else comes in about 10am, and I start at 8, which is enough time to open the post, update my mse diary and then pretend to have done some work:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
So, it's my birthday tomorrow:T and as I have a rehearsal tomorrow evening, Dh and I are going out for a posh nosh meal tonight. We've got a voucher for up to £60 to use; will explain why a bit later, but all very mse:DPersonal challenge: Do without as much as possible to pay off £12k by 07/2009!!!:T
