Have you asked your sisters to pay for your ticket as your bday present?

That way saves you worrying about any of it? LOL
Thats what I'd do, unless of course there is something theyve bought you as a bday present that you really need?

  • It's half an hour until I leave work, and I am running out of steam.
I am so fed up of working full time, I don't like work at the best of times, I loved working part time as I could fully commit to choir rehearsals, church children's club, visiting the old people's home, babysitting for friends, taking people to appointments... ooh I sounds like such an old fogie! But I LOVE not working, and being able to get on with a housewife's life.

However, I have committed to this for the next year, so I am now going to list all the encouragements I have planned for the next 12 months, to see me through.

Aug 08 - Theme park for my birthday:D
Going on holiday on the 25th

    Sep 08 Still on holiday:T

Oct 08 - Concert rehearsals go to twice a week:eek:

Nov 08 - Nothing planned yet

Dec 08 - Concert!!! Solo!!! Christmas!!!

Jan 09  concert over, skint again, suffering from Jan blues, will need to plan something drastic in there!!!

    Feb 09 Nothing planned yet
    Mar 09 Nothing planned yet
    Apri 09 Nothing planned yet
    May 09 Nothing planned yet
    June 09 Nothing planned yet
Jul 09 DEBT FREE?!?!?!?!??!?!?!:T Can now put our flat on the market.
Aug 09 oooh the possibilities are endless

Anyone got any ideas for the above blank months, cheap/free cheer ups??? :rotfl:

problem is I'll be with little sis, who is 20, living at home, earning, doesn't know about my debt problems - and hates that kind of brazeness!!!!!!!!!!!! arrgh!

Well if she would be embarressed about you sharing your 241 with someone, tell her you will share it with middle sis and younger sis can pay full price on her own!

    :rotfl: I wouldn't dare!!

The thing is that there are 3 of us going, me (oldest sis) G (20) and baby sis who is 13... so as a treat to baby sis (who rarely gets any and is not earning) we said we would pay for her... so obviously it's in my best interests to get as cheap as possible for the 3 of us, but a bit unfair to start dividing it like that.

G gets very frustrated with money and 'scrimping', but then she has always been good with money, she has about £2000 in savings already, pays her rent on time, and is of the opinion that if you cant afford it then dont have it... I think she would be more sympathetic if I told her about the debt "we" are in, but I dont want her to lose respect for my husband (since my dad left she has enough issues with men, I don't want to add to them:o ) so I'm left with appearing like the brazen scrimping older sister... part of the sacrifice I agreed to when I stayed to bear the burden of the debt with DH I suppose.

I'd offer it to any party of 3 LOL

Or why dont you invited your mum along?
That way your mum can pay for one ticket (and one person goes free) and your other sister can pay for one and you go free as your bday treat!?
Or anyone else for that matter whose close to you all...

    As for the months planner.

Nov 08 why dont you have a xmas present challenge to yourself, of making a gift for one or two people per week, way to spend the evening hours when its cold and dark outside, hamper gifts are a great way to go, esp if you can make lots of things for it yourself like foodie stuff.
Or make your own xmas cards etc.....

After xmas why dont you have an ebay challenge for one month, perhaps in January (get rid of any unwanted gifts) and earn some cash in the process.
February there is valentines so you and OH could plan a day out somewhere and see how cheap you can do it for, or plan a really nice night in, good cooked meal etc, one fortnight and then OH does it the next fortnight (1 night each) and you can make it like a date?

March there is mothers day, so perhaps you and your sisters could arrange a day out with mum, somewhere she'd like to go, stately home, or a pamper day or something (but get deals on it etc), then april there is easter.... which Im sure will mean church events for you...

The May and June could be DIY months, fixing up any loose ends, fittings etc in your flat to get it ship shape and ready to put on the market?

Now... why cant I make plans like that for myself!? LOL

  • Oooh Caf, you have some excellent ideas!
I will come on tomorrow and read through and update properly - but just popped in to say that my bestest darling hubby rang me on my way to my mums and told me he has printed off £16 entry to Alton Towers vouchers!!!! How did he find those and I didn't!!!
Typical man,, he cant remember where he found them, but I will try and jog his memory later so I can share with you all tomorrow... I just wanted to let everyone know that my dilemma is over!!
Also, as £16 is more manageable, I might suggest to G that she pays for my ticket as a birthday present, and then I will pay for baby sisters if she pays petrol. That takes the price for me down to £16:T:T:T Wooo hooo!

Icka!!! soooo good to see you, I welcome any of your comments :D Oh, and it's not my birthday till Weds next week... but thanks!!!:D

    Speak to you all tomorrow:rotfl:
