Bargainfinder wrote: »....just popped in to say that my bestest darling hubby rang me on my way to my mums and told me he has printed off £16 entry to Alton Towers vouchers!!!! How did he find those and I didn't!!!
Typical man,, he cant remember where he found them, but I will try and jog his memory later so I can share with you all tomorrow... I just wanted to let everyone know that my dilemma is over!!
Also, as £16 is more manageable, I might suggest to G that she pays for my ticket as a birthday present, and then I will pay for baby sisters if she pays petrol. That takes the price for me down to £16:T:T:T Wooo hooo!Proud to be dealing with my debts

Good luck bargainfinder.
You are doing the best thing ever sorting out finances while you are so young.
Have a great time at the theme park.:j£2 saved for every 1lb lost.:D(starting now)0 -
i'd try it too, saying that my younger sister wouldn't think twice she'd scare them into saying yes, and anyway if you spend less on the tickets it's more money for lunch0

Hi Bargainfinder, good luck with clearing the debts to get where and what ou want.
I too would be scared going up to someone asking them to split the price even though if someone asked me I would think they were lovely etc.0 -
Funny aint it, the way our minds work - I'd be really grateful if someone offered to split a bogof with me; yet petrified to ask someone else!
So, last night I said to my sister that if she hadn't got a birthday pressie yet, I'd be happy for her to pay for my ticket instead... and she said she had already planned to pay for us all anyway as it was my birthday:o .... how bad do I feel:rolleyes: However, my mum understands that I need to know how much money I have to spend, and my sister isn't easily offended, I'm just a little sensitive.
Anyway, from my point of view, I am now having pretty much a free day out:dance:.
I'm going to suggest I pay for mine and baby sisters lunch; but that will come to much less than I originally intended to pay.. big MSE CHEER:T :j :T
So, I got paid today, woooo hooo, always a nice feeling; even when you know it's all allocated. I paid work back the £20 I owed them, and have got £20 out to pay baby sister (we pay her £20 a month to walk the dog for us for an hour every week). When I worked part time I used to walk the dog long walks every day, but going full time has meant I dont have the time or energy to do that:o , so now we pay baby sister on a Weds, and we give her a run on a Saturday; so the dog gets looked after which is great.
I went out for a coffee with my mum and her bestest friend last night (she's like another mum to me). I took some cash, but mum bought first round and N the second round; so I didn't pay a thing. If it had been mates I would have felt like I was sponging; but as it was my 'Mums' it was just a lovely free night out:rotfl:
Even better, I got back and Dearest Darling Husband had done what I was intending to do today and got all the clothes from out of baskets chucked around the flat, and folded them into piles in the lounge, ready for a sort out. As we have a problem with clothes moths, so I need to get them all into air tight containers if I don't intend to wear them:eek:
So we sat down and watched House of Saddam - is anyone else watching that? I am totally not taking any opinion on the accuracy or the political stance, but as a dramatisation I think it's brilliant. Last of the 4 part series next week:p
Eventually went to bed at midnight, which is NOT GOOD as I am absolutely shattered, as this has been the case for the past week... however should be able to catch up at the weekend, yay!
We're doing outreach at our local park this Saturday morning, playing games with the kids there and a short Bible message; so that'll be fun and free; then however we're going shopping to get DH some shorts for holiday. As he is very overweight, we have to go to an Xsize shop and it costs a bomb:mad: But he cant exactly go to Egypt in 40degree heat with black jeans and long sleeved shirts can he??!:rotfl: Hopefully they'll have some good things in the sale:D
So, I am intending to get a lot of things done this evening.
- Sort out clothes/ Wardrobe / iron / fold
- Vaccume bedroom (including under the bed and behind the comfy chair:rotfl: )
- Clean the bathroom till it sparkles so much it hurts my eyes:D (Including tiles on the wall up to the ceiling and down to the floor )
- Relax by watching a dvd I borrowed from my friend
I have another list for tomorrow:rolleyes: !
Hope you're all ok and having a great Thursday:TPersonal challenge: Do without as much as possible to pay off £12k by 07/2009!!!:T

So, I have put our spare room up on christianflatshare.org and after a month have had no replies... too chicken to advertise it more broadly, and dont want to pay....How depressing.... somehow I dont think another chocolate rich tea biscuit is going to make me feel any better...Personal challenge: Do without as much as possible to pay off £12k by 07/2009!!!:T

okay, 40 minutes till I get to go home! Yesterday I looked at my 24 hour clock and thought it said ten to 4, then looked again 5 mins later, and I'd mis-read it, it was only ten to 3.... gutted!
Today however it is 15.20 and I have only 40 minutes to go! Raring to get home and start on the cleaning and packing etc; I hate coming back to a messy house after a long holiday. I think with the thought of all the washing you have to do, plus after holiday blues, the place needs to be spick and span!
Only 1 more day till the weekend, yay:DPersonal challenge: Do without as much as possible to pay off £12k by 07/2009!!!:T

So... did I do anything I planned to last night??
Noooo...
But I did do stuff; I managed to pack for our near 3 week trip. Problem is that a week today we're going down to DH parents house for the weekend, they're taking us to Gatwick on the Monday, then back 2 weeks following to stay at theirs for another night; so have to pack for their house and for Holiday separatley.....
But it's all packed and sorted now:T Just need to get a few things out of the wash and iron them and put them in and I'm sorted. Also wearing holiday clothes to the theme park next week so will need to put them on a 30 min fresh up on Thurs evening, over the radiator on Fri and pack them Fri night before we go:rotfl:
So that leaves the housework for tonight though.... yaawn.
Oh actually I did do one thing I said I would... I watched the film :rotfl:
I will update on my budget later; for now would anyone like to join in my debate, comments before 12pm as that's when I'm going on my lunch break...
Should I get a stepper or a trampoline? I need to excercise while watching tely in the evenings, to tone up my belly and lose some weight... and I dont know which of the above I should get!!
Comments pleeeeeeeeease!!
