Today, I have been clean for 295 days. When I think back on how bad it was last christmas, I inwardly shudder. I was close to losing it all. My family, friends, my children, my life. Today, I am proud of the fact that I am at last taking control and getting things sorted. Some might say 30 years too late, but better late than never. Stay strong people, stay clean and stay proud0

Thats great william
Im currently feeling really strong, i have no desire to gamble, which is suprising as i would usually be feeling stressed about christmas coming up and turn to gambling.
Everyone seems to be skint this christmas, or at least openly admitting they can't really afford to do that much at christmas, for me this is a good thing, as i dont feel under pressure to try and win a great christmas ~ if you can understand what i mean.
Although as im sure you'll be aware, like many others even when i did win, i'd always imagine that the Real BIG win was just around the corner, and end up losing any wins, without it ever seeing my bank account!
Have a great daystay strong and bet free :T

Morning all. 299 days and counting nearly the big 300!
Have just snowballed my credit card bills and although it doesn't make pleasant reading, I will make big inroads on them this year. I think I can get them down to about £10k (from £17K) by jan 2012. Need to renegotiate my mortgage in April 2012 as my fixed rate comes to an end. I hope that all are well, and that life isn't treating all too roughly. Stay strong and stay clean my friends0 -
hi all

Still going well. In fact, I'm finding it a good bit easier than the first fortnight. The torment has eased and filling my life with other, quite frankly, unproductive stuff (just discovered WoW !!) Its not as addictive but its the methadone to my heroine at the moment. The thoughts of starting again still plague my every day but the vivid torment of that first fortnight has so far been enough to put me off. I just don't think i'd be strong enough again, to take those first steps.
Jojo and James - If you're like me, you're probably reading this thread on a regular basis. I hope you both are getting on ok and fighting the urges. Appreciate your support, please keep posting and let us know how you're doing, regardless.
Riquelme - Feel for you. Life often appears to be a constant battle but there are good things out there worth fighting for, stay resilient. Hope you spend a great christmas with your kids.
Thanks for the continued support, hope everyone is able to stay strong. Merry Christmas and for today I will not gamble."Happiness is not the absence of problems but the ability to deal with them"0 -

Merry Christmas everyone. I hope you've all enjoyed the weekend so far and taken time to reflect on what it could have been like had you continued to gamble xLast bet : 26th Oct 2006:j Debt free 25th Feb 2008:j Living "my" dream:T0

Hope everyone has had a good christmas, Still doing Ok here.
I have been reading a few threads of people who have been struggling with gambling, and have posted a link to this support thread for anyone who may need some support.
I dont know how you all feel but i sometimes feel im looked down on by others because im in debt because of gambling. Its good that i can come here and share, other boards wouldnt see it as any sort of achievement if i turned up a couple of times a week just to say i haven't Gambled todayEveryday im shufflin' Proud Padder ~ All Hail The Power of Pad0
