3 months today :) How's everyone else getting on?

I feel considerably richer for not p*ssing it all away at the bookies. That and the fact that I've been able to pay off about £9400 of debt since January... Only 4K to go!

Well for me it's going great, OH is in Italy so I can relax and not have to watch my bank account like a hawk. He was slipping a bit before he went, so hopefully this spell of cold turkey will help him

I'm glad to hear so many of you are staying strong! I'm battling my own addiction at the moment (food, it doesn't sound bad but I'd got up to 17 stone) and thinking of all of you doing so well with your problem is helping me. (hope that doesn't sound like I'm trivialising your problems).
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.

Sorry to hear about your car Bax but just think about how you'd have felt if it went while you were gambling? You wouldnt have had the money for the repair!!

Life is about tests and challenges. Fell proud you are doing so well x

    Hello all

I have just been pointed in the direction of this thread which I must say has made me feel tons better. Just reading that people have felt/feel the same way as myself has helped a lot

Currently I am 48,000 in debt due to Gambling and only just stopped last week - Have attended a Gamcare Session and intend to carry this on.

    Welcome Amiga

Just remember to take it one day at a time, and it does get easier. If you need distraction/venting/support, there's usually one of us around also trying to stay sane!

Good luck and keep on truckin'. It's amazing how much richer you feel once you stop!

If you have a serious problem with gambling, I wouldn't recommend this, but I find gambling to be fun and easy if you have a limit, and if you lose half of that, call it a day. It means you're less likely to gamble away a fortune, and you'll still be able to have fun without the regrets!

I should stress, if you have a serious gambling problem, don'd do this, don't gamble if you can't stay away!

I'm sorry if this sounds harsh, but what is the point of your post? Why are you suggesting something that you yourself say the people on this thread shouldn't do? Don't you think that the people on here feel bad enough without you saying how easy it is for other people to keep it under control?
