I did a restaurant job for GFK that said I must order one of the three hot meals on the cover sheet, to test if I got a table marker and to time how long it took for the meal to come out.

When I got there, they only sold hot and cold sandwiches, salads, dessert items or soup that was served from heated pot on the counter. I did ask but the lady said they didn't do hot meals, just what was on the board. As all the cold food was on the counter too, I ordered a hot sandwich so I could do the table marker and timing thing.

Explained to GFK when I got home and they were fine about it. I would give them a ring and let them know there isn't a shop there.

Arbie,I agree with Becles, Cranezoe and Leila, I find gfk just about the best company, totally human. I would talk to them and resolve this.

Golden Jill, I also think that gap do rest some of the local supermarkets in question some months, if that helps,

Has anyone got any tips on searching GB or TNS?

Everyone hints loads of jobs on them (and others) but I never seem to find them.

And agreed with othes gfk is my top tip so far (what with my couple of weeks huge experience at being a MS haha)

For TNS just leave all the fields empty and the search will show you everything, all over the country - just scroll down the list looking for your local towns.

As for Gap, I couldn't master the copy and paste that some people use, I just have to go down and tick all the local towns, and do it the slow way!

Yeah, me too, scaredy, though I remember Timmne once posted how to do this! Sounded quite simple, but you and me vie for top techno numpty!

Thanks to people who pmed me after my thought that I'd been dropped by a company after moaning to them- seems they are not bothered as have jsut sent me a request to do a job. So I'm ok. Its funny how different all the companies are- sometimes it gets a bit confusing juggling several:o

If it's the one I'm thinking of, I did receive a request but the place was miles away from me, so really not worth doing! Chances are there just wasn't anything close to you Sinders! They've given me work at local places before, but none of those were offered this time, so I guess it's a limited job, only the odd place included here and there.

In the TNS search page click on the postcode box and put in the first 2 letters of your post code. (e.g. Northamptonshire is NN, Milton Keynes MK, Luton LU etc..). This will then bring up everything in your county.

Going to London for a couple of days and have 2 meals sorted: A pub meal and a sushi meal. Talk about moneysaving!!
