I was interested to see your comments on bare. I've done a few jobs for them, I did the car showrooms one, which paid well, and acouple of sports shops. I got good ratings for all of them, but haven't been allocated any of the jobs I've applied for since. I also sumbitted the voice recording, which has been accepted but I still can't self-assign. Really want to stick with them as they do seem to pay well, but starting to get a bit disheartened.0

Sorry to ask anohter, but just saw a post in the alerts thread about RM. I've just sumbitted my first job with them, but they sent me a text telling me to call to get the job. Do you normally just call them and see if they have anything in your area, or wait for them to get in touch with you?
thanks

I assumed RM would contact me if they had any jobs - I've not been offered anything by them though. I just thought it was becuase I'm in rural area and they don't have any clients where I live.
Could anyone PM me with an idea of their clients. Also does anyone know who mystery shops Woolworths, Burger King, Lidl, Aldi, La Senza, Bargain Booze, Clintons cards, Edinburgh Woollen Mill or Stead and Simpson.
Many thanksilovefreegle.org - give it away don't throw it away0 -
Vickisaver - they usually text me and invite me to ring to claim suitable jobs.
ruthiejane - I'm sure they will text you when something comes up - you're right there are probably fewer jobs available in your area. I can't help your queries but I would like to know about Edinurgh WM too - since it's one of the few high street stores near me in this rural area!
Taggie, cookinmummy et al - I think it may have been the office which shut my firefox down earlier - it was slow and then it just went.
RE have told me they're back up so I will go have a go. I agree though cookinmummy, their reports do take a while...and the pub I visited on saturday was so disgusting I really didn't want to eat there at all...Gala bingo wins £70!!! mystery shopping earnings: £0

Hi everyone,
I am new to mystery shopping (and to this forum!) but already have done a few jobs and have a few more lined up. I am hoping someone may be able to help me with my query regarding payment and taxes.
I am currently between jobs and previously worked as a consultant through my own limited company, managed by a third party who charge me a monthly fee. As I am not currently working, this fee (which is fairly high) is being waived. In the meantime, I have started doing some mystery shopping to get me out of the house but my question is this: do I get the fees paid directly into my limited company (in which case, any earnings will be outweighed by the fees) or do I get them paid directly into my personal bank account and declare it against my personal income? Would I be able to get away with not declaring it at all? I have read the information on the first page about registering as self employed however, as I am an employee and director of my limited company I am unable to also register myself as self-employed (according to the people that manage my limited company).
This probably makes no sense but I am really hoping someone can help me out with some advice.
thanks in advance!0 -
Hi I was wondering if anyone can help me out. I am trying to register for retail maxim and I can't seem to get past the first six questions. This makes me sound really stupid but I'm very familiar with mystery shopping so cant figure out where I'm going wrong! Any advice would be greatly appreciated!0

Thanks for replying adoresabargain, at least I'm not the only one! I've answered so many of these things in my time and I just can't figure out where I'm going wrong. Maybe somebody will be able to help us!0

Sorry I can't answer all your other questions, but I know that one is a big fat no!
It would be tax evasion if you didn't declare your extra income.
Becles is right you really will have to declare it. If you are confused about registering as self employed then give the tax office a call to explain and they will tell you what to do. the number is on page one of this thread.0
