    *MOS obliges*
"Oh, what do I do with xyz if I come off my benefits?"
*MOS replies & starts to turn away with a polite nod*
"OK, so what if my estranged aunt needs her pension collected?"
*MOS sighs, fashions together an answer and says goodbye*
"Whilst I'm here, what should I do if my cat needs her car retaxed?"
*MOS pauses then briefly says a few words and catagorically says goodbye*
Optional question: "Do you know I'm a MSer, or do you just think I'm an oddball?"
I was due to do one of these yesterday but I got in there and the place was so small and you could hear everyone else, so I chickened out :o I wasn't really hapy about doing it to start with but thought I may aswell give it a go. At least I know to avoid the pk ones from now on ;)

  • Can anyone help me with a couple of questions on TNS please?

Firstly, I booked a pub meal job with them, booked ages ago and still not received the notes although the job is due this week. I have emailed and just got a reply saying notes not released yet, should be any day now. Is this normal?

Secondly, one of the reasons I'm so anxious to get the notes is I don't know how strict they are over what you are required to do/time and what you have to order. Can anyone give me a hint what type of things you have to make notes of, is it just length of time from ordering to receiving meal etc? Also, how strict are they about what you order? I'm a veggie and the place does do veggie meals but not many! The main menu has about 8 options and only one of these is veggie. Do TNS say order any item or do they tell you what you have to order?

I've done a few pub jobs for TNS and I've always been able to order whatever I wanted providing I ordered the correct number of courses, main meals, etc. If in doubt, ring your regional controller. I've spoken to various people from TNS and they've all been really friendly and helpful.

I once went to do a job for them and the pub was closed for refurbishment. I rang them (on a Sunday) and I was told to take my family for a meal anywhere else I liked and they'd pay for it to make up for my inconvenience.
One of the better companies to work for.

    Wow! That is impressive!

Hope mine goes ok then - I know you can't comment on a specific job, but in general does the reimbursement cover the amount you have to spend - I mean if they insist on 3 courses, for example? I hope they don't insist on 3 courses, I'd be full after the starter!
  • Roughly how long do I need to keep paperwork? I have some going back almost 5 months and this has all been accounted for with the tax so I have no need to keep it.

    Is it 3 months?

For some reason I've got it in my head Gap say 6 months. Gfk say 3 months. Can't remember the rest
  • I did exactly the same, dont know what Gyp are going to say though!

  • I'm really puzzled with the way Bare work. I have applied for a few jobs in the past and they have remained 'pending' until way after the due date. I almost gave up on them, but then thought I'd try again when the latest round of telephone jobs came up. I applied for about 6, and have just checked, now there are only 3 'pending', the others have vanished without a trace - not been allocated to me, just gone.

I wanted a simple job first to see how they work but seems they won't let me - just keep emailing me (and everyone else) to do car dealerships that I don't really want to do. What's the secret to breaking through the Bare barrier? Or should I just give up on them completely?
  • Hi Scaredy Cat

Have you submitted a "Recording Sample" - when I did I was able to self-select the car call centre 'phone jobs, though you are only allowed 2 at a time. For the "Recording Sample" you need to record a voice sample on your computer and send it to Bare. The instructions are straightforward and I purchased a cheap (about £3) headset/microphone to record the sample.
The 'phone jobs are also very straighforward.
