Sometimes they mean 'house number' such as '19 High Street'. It might not be on the receipt, is it on your job notes?

Is there any way I can amend the report now that I've submitted it? The address wasn't on the receipt, just the head office address, but yes the local address was on the job notes - I never thought of using that because it said Store Number from your receipt.

Chances are they will query it anyway because I told the truth about the service, which was less than impressive!
What was their excuse for not paying you?
I dealt with 2 members of staff (the only 2 in the store) - got the name of 1 (who was wearing a name badge) and gave detailed description of the other (who was not. Was told I would not be paid as I did not get the other name.
Was a bit peeved - if they knew I would not be paid anyway, why ask me to spend my time answering the questions for a second time.

I think that's appalling! I thought the assignment notes usually say get the name OR a detailed description. If the staff member isn't wearing a badge, and maybe isn't the main person serving you, it would look really odd asking them for their name. I think this is another prime example of why someone needs to get us a batch of those I AM A MYSTERY SHOPPER t-shirts! :rotfl:
• GAP were ok when I started MSing; they were my first employers. There was regular work in London and I found it useful, getting, essentially, free stamps sometimes, and burgers..I don't tend to eat that sort of thing but it was desparate times and if it's free, I'll take it!! Then, they strted finding excuses not to pay me. Example: I did not have a scanner. I still don't, so am glad RE accepts receipt in the post, or I use the library if it's for BARE or someoen who insists on the receipt. So, I took a photo with my phone and it was not, according to them, clear enough, so rather than asking me to fax it, send it or even rescan it they just refused to pay me, and then ignored my email offering to resubmit the receipt. This happened 4times before I quit.

I'm a little anxious about this too, so if anyone can advise me I'd appreciate it. I do have a scanner but I'm not technical and I had problems scanning my receipt, so I took a photo of it and uploaded that. I don't think it will be close enough to be legible unless they can enlarge it. I tried taking a closer photo of the top of the receipt and a closer one of the bottom of the receipt, but then I found the system would only let me upload one photo.

(By the way, there should be a shrugging smiley at the end of that last sentence - can anyone see it?)
• Scaredy Cat, Store number actually tends to be for the reference of Head office. An example is GAP, the shop that is, not the MSing company, who have the number of their store on the receipt.

So, an eg, with a made up number as I cannot recall it from memory would be, on this Gap receipt

GAP Logo
Then underneath (Oxford Street, store 1936)
The address, so 123 Oxford St,
London,
W1 XXX

Phone number.

Not all stores have this on their receipt but if you've been asked for it, that's what you need to find. PM me the name of the retailer you're dealing with and I will see if I can help you further.

GAP did that to me as well, when I went to a phone shop and the staff member; the ONLY one on the shop floor had a badge saying TRAINEE. I gave a detailed description and a very complentary report as he was very good, but I felt it inappropriate to ask his name in that scenario. I've done other jobs where it would not seem unusual, eg, "Well, that sounds great, but I'm still shopping around; can I have your name or a business card so I can come back and see you if I decide to take up *store name* on this offer?"
• Oh, I just saw, Scaredy Cat, it was a bucket job. Never done one of those, so sadly cannot help where receipts are concerned, although send me a scan and I am sure I can try and decipher it (If you want!!) HTH

I have given some absolutely appaling feedback on some of GAP's jobs. The shops were just totally useless. I've never had a query on any of them. I've done loads of jobs for GAP and had 2 queries - one on a burger job and one on a petrol job. I answered as in one of my last posts and they were quite happy. With regard to the receipt I'd send what you've got so they can see that you did get a receipt. If there's a problem I'm sure they'll ask but I doubt they will.

And I still can't see the smiley's!!!!!

Hi and welcome. When you got assigned the job you should have got an e-mail. The number should be on that. Otherwise if you go into "My assignments" on GAP the first column is the assignment number. Any problems PM me and I'll see what I can do. We don't mention the actual name of the company but use names such as "Yellow Arches" for the burger jobs or seaside petrol for one of the petrol companies GAP does. You'll catch on.

It should be in Your Assignments if they allocated you the job. How long ago did you accept it? You usually get a 'pending' on Your Assignments and then an email confirming they have given you the job, and then you should be able to see the details. Did you get the email confirming they have allocated you the job?
