What was their excuse for not paying you?
I dealt with 2 members of staff (the only 2 in the store) - got the name of 1 (who was wearing a name badge) and gave detailed description of the other (who was not. Was told I would not be paid as I did not get the other name.
Was a bit peeved - if they knew I would not be paid anyway, why ask me to spend my time answering the questions for a second time.

I'm considering emailing Shell to ask them if they are aware that their provider of mystery shops are not targetting an accurate and fair cross section of the public by offering their jobs to burger eaters only.0

Today I get an email from them:
Dear *Tractorgirl327*,

This has really pee-d me off. All the questions are ones which i replied "No" to. No, the assistant didn't fill in the required form. No, she didn't mention hands free kits. No, she didn't encourage me to buy. etc etc. Why should I have to give them extra info when I never have before? I'm inclined to reply and say how much extra are they going to pay me for the additional info.
I’m glad I am not the only one! I had this annoying email with pretty much the same questions as yours just before I was about to leave to go away for the week and if I had not filled this in I would not have been paid. It pee-d me off because all the questions that wanted comments on were ridiculous
eg. Did the member of staff mention insurance? Yes or No. I ticked No and they want an explanation. What do they want from us. No they did not mention insurance!!!!0 -
Ooh, don't get me started with Gap! I went out of my way on Friday in the pouring rain and flooding to do a takeaway chicken job for them. The meal cost £11.49 even though they only reimburse £10.00, AND then they ask you to explain if the food costs more than £11.00! Um, it cost 49p more. How am i supposed to know why? That was the cost of it! Grrrr...0

good idea, its time gyp started treating shoppers better!! AND the companies that pay them!!!0 -
GAP were ok when I started MSing; they were my first employers. There was regular work in London and I found it useful, getting, essentially, free stamps sometimes, and burgers..I don't tend to eat that sort of thing but it was desparate times and if it's free, I'll take it!! Then, they strted finding excuses not to pay me. Example: I did not have a scanner. I still don't, so am glad RE accepts receipt in the post, or I use the library if it's for BARE or someoen who insists on the receipt. So, I took a photo with my phone and it was not, according to them, clear enough, so rather than asking me to fax it, send it or even rescan it they just refused to pay me, and then ignored my email offering to resubmit the receipt. This happened 4times before I quit.0
-
Also, I found GAP's way of submitting reports was not efficient at all. I think RE is the best I have come accross. BARE can be very long winded and annoying at times but it is infinitely better than GAP still.0

I must admit this is the way I work. The jobs I do for GAP and RE are just "filler" jobs. If I'm doing a much better paid job I find a GAP or RE job to do as well - that way it pays the petrol!! Take yesterday for example, I had a job on with Assosia which paid quite well and then I did a GAP burger. I was taking DH to rugby and the burger joint was on route. I would never go out out of my way to do just do one GAP job - it's not worth it. That way I got free food for dinner and the GAP fee paid the petol costs. Only do them if your in the vicinity and try to do a batch at a time. HTH0

Just got back from buying that bucket meal for Gap. One of the first questions is the store number - from the receipt??? Where on the receipt? Anyone?
There are loads of numbers but none actually say STORE. Does anyone have any idea where abouts on the receipt it has the store number, or what letters might indicate the store number?Pleeeeeeease!
Sometimes they mean 'house number' such as '19 High Street'. It might not be on the receipt, is it on your job notes?Never mash cheese: it bends the fork.0 -

I was thinking of emailing Seaside Petrol to offer to Mystery shop for them independently since I'm no longer eligible to shop for them through Gap because I'm not a burger eater... (Not that I'm expecting them to take me up on the offer, you understand.)
