the sports one with re - I did one last month and it said I couldnt take the item back. after I uploaded the receipt I noticed a hole in the top I bought so decided I wanted to take it back. I rang RE to tell them and they said I couldnt get a refund but they would allow an exchange!?! I have another one of these jobs next week and I dont want the tat - so are other people taking stuff back? if I can then I want to!

I can't see how they would know unless they go through all the returns for every shop looking to match up receipt numbers? I did this shop for BAI a couple of months ago and the fee was nearly 4 times higher. And no compulsory tat purchase either...

I did my first mystery shop this week. Just found this thread and have read up to page 17. I sent the items back with the receipts and my invoice and all the forms I filled in. So when I read this should I have kept the items. And what are the best companies to work for. £8 for a mystery shop seems very poor return but then I love shopping.

For some companies like RM, you have to buy more expensive things and send them back to RM to be reimbursed (They send you a prepaid sack and you have to pay for Recorded Delivery - which they also reimburse).
With many other MS companies, you get to keep stuff you buy - up to a certain spend limit. The intructions you'll receive from each Msing company will specify what they want you to do with the stuff they require you to buy. Hth. :D

RE do 2 different sports shops - one gives a better reimbursement and fee than the other.
Personally RE are going way down on my list.
    But thats whole other story

When you have to send back the things you have to buy when Mystery shopping what happens to them? I would love that shoes I tried on :T I have visions of them having loads of cupboards in their office - sort of like the Tardis that they just throw things into hehe:rotfl:
  • Is is today that Timmne was getting maried or is it tomorrow? Pray the weather gets a bit better.

BTW - does anyone know if any MS companies doe any outdoor shops like Milletts or fishing tackle shops etc - DH would be ecstatic if I could do a job there for him lol

Got a local food shop job tomorrow and a large furniture shop on the retail park by me on Sunday. Have had a few more e-mails asking me to do jobs next week but I can't in all honesty agree to do them just in case DD No 2 decides to make an early appearance lol

Sometimes they get sent to the client and will go back into stock.

The cheap sports shops are canny if you have bairns. I've managed to get PE trainers for mine, jackets, tops and jogging bottoms for playing out in, and stuff like footballs and goalie gloves.
Here I go again on my own....

The Millets/Blacks group does get mystery shopped but they don't give you any free purchase. They just make you enquire about sleeping bags or rucksacks *yawn*
