I had a problem with logging into RM as new web page? The job was Saturday and finally had a call back booked for this morning, so dont expect a day or so later to get the report in would be a problem as it is not your fault.

I did a job for BARE back in June and was paid within one month. I kept applying for jobs but never got any so had all but given up on them. I could not even get the self assign as I am not qualified as a native english speaker! Then two days ago I got a call out of the blue and have got three financial and a phone shop in next two days.

Not quite sure how they work, probably their top person in my area is on holiday!

Ditch the Halifax as they are swindlers

  • I'm also with the Halifax and they are pants. My credit rating isn't brill though so don't know how to go about changing banks.

I'm off into town with my mum and DD tomorrow as I need to get a few last minute things. Wonder if I can get my waters to break in M&S!!!!!!

A quick question for those of you who shop for Bare - did you have to pay for the MSPA accreditation before you could commence shopping? Feels wrong to me to pay out before I can earn, especially with the payment woes I've been reading about!

    Many thanks

    Arbie
  • I didnt do the MSPA thing, I think its optional, if you have it put in your code.

    Hi
You dont need the accreditation to shop with Bare. I think you need to complete the basics test they have, but this does not cost anything. Not sure whether doing the silver certification with MSPA has made any difference to the jobs that I get.

Enjoy your busy Saturday, PL. I had a busy day today with 6 jobs and got 3 tomorrow and 5 on Friday and 3 on Saturday. There seem to be loads at the mo, but I'm not doing any next week, I'm making sure I'm ready for my exam at the end of the month...

  • Can anyone advise me please - I'm having a sort of panic attack!!

I'm new to MSing, only started a month ago and only done a handful of visits. Now I think I've taken on too much and I'm in a panic. Don't get me wrong, I haven't taken on a lot compared to the rest of you, but it feels like a lot to me.

One that's really worrying me is a recorded telephone call. I don't want to do it - only accepted it to stay in the good books because I thought there might be more work if I do this. It's with ISC, has a really low fee, and I have to dial an 0870 number to record it, which will make the fee even lower. I don't want to let them down, but I really don't want to do it. Does anyone know how much it will go against me if I cancel?

Secondly, I think I now have to cancel 2 jobs with a new company I've only just registered with. They offered me 2 broadband enquiry jobs - I wouldn't have accepted these if I'd seen them on email but the guy rang me up and caught me by surprise. It says I will have to give a postcode and house number for a property where this company is currently not providing any services. I don't know anyone who doesn't have any services with this company, so I feel it would be safer to cancel, but again I'm worried about letting them down.

    Please advise me.
  • Hi Scaredy
Obviously it's best not to cancel any assignments in an ideal world but in this line of work it does happen and you don't need to beat yourself up over it. The two assignments where you don't have a valid postcode to give need to be cancelled because you wouldn't be able to complete the scenario properly, so you are being sensible to cancel asap and give your reason. It is valid and shouldn't go against you. Most of these jobs have extendable dates and it really won't be so bad for anybody. Better to cancel than go ahead with jobs you know you can't do and get all stressed.

Re the phone job - yes it's a rubbish fee and I won't be doing any more at that fee, but it is easy to do (you can refer to, and make, notes during) and you might find you like phone jobs after the experience. If you can't face it then give a reasonable excuse and cancel rather than worrying yourself senseless. But maybe give it a try...hope that helps

  • Thanks Sinders! It does help. Initially I thought the broadband thing would be ok because on the phone he just said use an address where they don't have broadband, but on the notes it says use an address that doesn't have 'any' services from this company.

The company concerned supply television, broadband and telephone - so it's a bit difficult to think of anyone who doesn't have any of those - and I don't want to go round asking people!

I still don't know about the phonecall. I'm not happy at being recorded - I hate listening to my own voice and I feel even more pressured that they want timings to the second - if I'm a bit out on my timings they will be able to tell. How does it work when you download the recording? Does my computer play it back to me? Does that cost me anything, or just when I'm actually on the phone?

I can't make up my mind. I think it's ridiculous to get this worked up when the fee is so low. But then I think if I don't do it I won't get any future work. This is another one I wouldn't have accepted, but was specifically offered it and felt it would go against me if I turned it down.
