    You've been brainwashed by ebay...

No, it's a simple fact. You're required to accept PayPal for payment.

If someone really doesn't want to accept PayPal, they should be selling someplace other than eBay.
Don't they have to put CCTV signs up? Is this not, then, the same as telling someone you are going to photograph them?

I imagine the signs are there to discourage people from committing a crime. I see plenty of places that have CCTV but no signs.

You seem more obsessed with ebay and paypal than the rest of us who actually use it.

I've said it before but if you really dislike them so much for keep catching you out and banning you surely it would be best to just walk away and leave it and use a different place to sell, you are quick to tell us all to go elsewhere but don't seem to want to follow your own advice

    I don't use ebay.

However people should be warned about ebay's dubious ways.

Is this not a money saving forum?

Just like the French in WW2 were required to accept that the Germans were now in charge?

Good grief Dave. That comparison is quite demented, even for you.
Isn't there some ebaysucks.com site you'd be better off hanging around on?

Sorry Dave but I think you're a bit over the line there.

I realise you have a serious ebay obsession but try and walk away a bit, most of us realise ebay isn't real..it's just an internet site we happen to use,you mustn't let ebay take over your life entirely.

Which makes you part of the resistance?? Everybody gets delusions of grandeur.

To some extent I see where you're coming from. It was ordinary people like us who made eBay what it is today, and now eBay are taking it away from us and there seems to be little we can do to stop them.

Have you actually been screwed over by eBay, Dave, or do you just object to them on principal?

I got booted off ebay, and can't see the point of joining up again so that makes me either Swiss or someone in a concentration camp...

Ebay was good, everything you could possibly want was on it.

Now due to fees and pointless rules there's not much on there.

Ebay also treat their users with utter contempt.

Like you say ebay's users built the site, and now their being sidelined in favor of big retailers.

    Erm, no.

If you were living in Nazi-occupied France, you couldn't just say "sorry Mr Hitler, I don't really feel like living under your tyrannical genocidal regime, would it be possible to opt-out?".

Whereas if you don't want to use eBay, no one is forcing you to.

    Anyhow, you lose I'm afraid.

    What for?
can't see the point of joining up again
So what do you do with your unwanted stuff now?
Like you say ebay's users built the site, and now their being sidelined in favor of big retailers.
So what's the answer? Some sort of "freebay" (free as in speech, rather than free as in beer) owned and run by and for the users?
But how to build it up? Where to get users from?
