So far I have sorted the shed and cut the grass (loks like i did it with a knife and fork!!) but that's at least a start. now trying to psych up for the ironing - will be less painful in front of the olympics.

Well done, Susie! How fantastic is that? Hope you can tell Twink soon or you'll burst!
Thanks to everyone for the comments about the wedding pics. I might post one of me and DH - if I can find a presentable one! I'm still going through them. DH had the camera most of the time but he was taking his role of driving the bridesmaids around far too seriously and seemed to think he was their minder, too! Can't blame him - they must have increased his street-cred considerably! My BIL took loads of pics and will email them to me so I'll try and post those when I get them.
RedRuby - yes, I think he's handsome, too! (I'm not biased, am I?)!

Back again
Whatatwit - glad to hear that DD is back
Kathy - lovely photos, I too love that pink
Pixie - eeeeeekkkkkk wowowowow, well done!!!!!!!!!
The interview, hmmmmm. Wasn't really keen on going as have been for position there before and wasn't successful, but this was through the agency and rightly or wrongly I feel that if I turn something down with them, they might not send me for any moreIt would suit me as its only a 5 min walk, just have to wait and see.
Since I have been back I had one of those furniture moving moments, it looked ok in my mindseye, but not so good in reality. Anyway its staying like it as it might stop OH's DD moaning about the cupboard in her room (I've moved it into the hall, but its a bit big). Note I am calling her OH's DD now and not DSD, this is because 1) she is not being like a daughter, she has spent most of the weekend either ignoring or sneering at me and 2) the only thing Dear about her at the moment is the amount of money she costs.
I have added the FB links on here, but am unable to work out who other people are :rotfl:so here's mine, please feel free to add me http://www.new.facebook.com/profile.php?id=539179464
Better go and sort this cupboard out now, loads of rubbish in itwhoever said laughter was the best medicine has clearly never tasted wine

Whatatwit - so glad all is well. Big relief all round.
Pixie - super win, well done you!
Kathy - so pleased the wedding went so well, and a great photo!
Collected dogs from kennels this morning. Clearly they'd rolled in something very nasty, so now have two very damp dogs and a trashed bathroom! My youing nephew and niece are staying, so they helped - but having seen the state of the bath, niece has announced she will not be having a bath all week!
DGD's baptism lovely yesterday - I was a very proud Nanna and proud Mum too - DS had organised an absolute feast for everyone afterwards and a great time was had by all!Resolution:

Great pics Kathy, more please! Have you got any of your favours?
Well done Susie, how exciting!
Casserole doing it's thing, bunged some more focaccia in the bread maker and will cook in the remoska (oh how I love it!) to go with it. Didn't do baked pots, kids decided they'd rather have rolls! So left them to it!GC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -

I'm pretty sure we dont need counselling, but thanks for the advice;) It's not marriage problems as such, its just thats he's knackered from looking after me all the time, but doesnt want other people to look after me.
Whatatwit-Im glad the girls have come home safe and sound. Its horrible being a parent sometimes isnt it! I have this to come as DD is nearly 14 and really not looking forward to it.
Have been to the hospital this morning for an iron infusion but back home now. Got the nurse coming in later to check on me and to monitor my BP, Glucose and INR.
My helper has been this morning and is hopefully staying put with me which Im happy about. Her and partner are trying to work out their problems. She peeled some spuds & carrots, so dinner is basically sorted. It was nice of her as I didnt even ask her to do it, but looked at my menuplan. She's taken the ironing away with her and will drop back tomorrow evening. I am thinking of asking her if she would like a couple more hrs a week, then OH can have a break too.
We had a lovely time at friends yesterday and she cooked a lovely dinner.
Anyway, I need to go and rest.

I rang the police to call off the search party, and they asked that I ring when she actually got home and they are going to send an officer round to speak to her
Oh yes - they will want to check that she is ok, that nothing serious happened and that there are no problems at home and will then rip into her a bit about the worry she's caused you and the waste of public money etc. I am sadly an expert in these matters - at one point the police had every single head and full length shot of dd as they kept taking them. We got into a bit of a routine of it - phone police, lovely dave and joanne of missing persons unit would call back after checking cells and hospitals and commiserate, police officer would come round and offload me of more pictures, search her room  and take lists of likely whereabouts and friends numbers. sometime later dd would come back of own accord or in police car and yawn through the inevitable rollocking. your situation is very different of course - dd was proper running away but I hope Miss Twit is mortified enough to be more careful in future. My dd is mostly lovely now btw. I would also say that if you're worried in the future never ever hesitate to call them - it's what we pay them ofr after all.I'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 20080 -

I guess you've already pointed this out to him, but maybe he needs you to help him see that having help from an "outsider" would give him times when he can be your OH, and not your carer. Then you can be a couple, not someone who needs assistance & their helper.
Work is a bit mad, so will read last few days when back home tonight & post then.
:grouphug: to all in need.
See you later,
Floss xx0 -
PenPin - I'm glad you had a good time yesterday. Your poor OH - I can understand how he wants to look after you but, as Floss has pointed out, he needs to be your OH at times so that you can be a couple. Having other people to look after you will give you some lovely 'couple' time together.
Mummysaver - here's a link to some of the favours I made. I posted the photos on our Yahoo Wooligan group because I hadn't figured out how to put them straight on here! http://uk.ph.groups.yahoo.com/group/Wooligan/photos/view/8d7b?b=14 I also made ten for the top table in the hot pink colour but they were done at the very last minute when I actually found the net in that colour in the shops! My DIL has pictures of those so I'll have to wait until she returns from honeymoon!
Whatatwit - I hope your DD has realised just what a scare she gave you and your DH (and us!). Stef's experience sounds dreadful. Stef - however did you cope? My DS2 necessitated a visit from a policeman years ago; a local furniture store had closed down years before but some of the stock was left inside and, one evening, he and his friends had the idea of taking one of the sofas out and sitting on it in the car park. However, they were seen carrying it by someone who told the police. The police responded straightaway and found them all trying to carry it around the car park - they may have made a quick getaway but they were all wearing rollerboots and fell over each other! Suffice to say, they all had to attend the police station with mortified parents in tow for a good talking to. As far as I know, he didn't get up to any more misdemeanours!
Well, I'd better get on with some work. I've put some chicken pieces and vegetables ready for some sort of casserole in the Remoska and we have strawberries for pud with some real Devon clotted cream that DH's brother brought down with him at the weekend.
Will call in later,

:hello: everyone!
I haven't got time to read the thread today, because I'm meant to be working, but I know you're all really worried about my cake.
Mum says it's lovely! :jIf you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0
