:j I've Just Done My Tax Return!!!:j
The good news is that the taxman owes me £1600ish for the business losses. The bad news is that I think it should have been quite a bit more but I was far too scared to change anything or estimate anything that I couldn't prove on paper for fear of getting in a right pickle - at least as it is, I've got the paperwork here in case I do get looked into. But I hope I don't as that would be an enormous headache as so much of it was a bodge just to get it finished and although it's as correct as it was going to be, if anyone asked me what the figures were in 6 months time I wouldn't have a clue.
Sorry the hol wasn't so good Floxxie. We've avoided anything fancy with the kids as it's more bother than it's worth taking them anywhere, hence the Sun caravan hols in Northampton and the likes.
Freecycle lot no 1 gone, and the woman may be interested in buying the old car as well for £200 which is better than a slap across the jaw with a mouldy octopus.
Got to drive 30-odd miles to collect DHs friend now (he offered to cycle but it's 40-below outside, he'd probably freeze on the way) as DH told him to come over tonight before he goes back to London tomorrow, then promptly disappeared off to work. Cheers mate. Must see what useful things I can get him to do while he's here.0 -
The burger is gone! Was making me permanently hungry, so it had to go.
A nice quiet afternoon at work today, and I've just been asked for a shift swop tomorrow so instead of working 9-7 I'm doing 5-10. Fab! Greg's going to the childminder in the morning as well, so we can use the time to try and get a few jobs done around the house.
Is it just me, or does everyone feel really motivated at the moment?0 -
pleased to see you had a great xmas.
well done on the shift change - much better hours for you.
Yep it is the time of the year for motivation and also we all support each other so that is cool:D
done wii fit and gym so may go off and tackle the ironing whilst watching the footie.£2 savers club 2025 #40 -

Ahh, that's ok then - I can carry on being psuedo-motivated.........Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0

Wow Pandapaws! I almost never post anything on the forums but just wanted to say that I read your first post on this thread - and have jumped to the last page - you are doing so brilliantly reducing your debt. :TOnward and upward - with the odd step to the side

Thanks Rupe! Except I'm not really
. We've kind-of lost the thread a little over the past couple of months and the evil cards have been taking a pounding. I think we'll break even as we pay over £2k a month off, and I don't think we've put more than 2k a month back on (if that makes sense) but it's a bit of a setback. It's been essential-ish stuff for the most part, bathrooms, garden work rather than frivolous spending like I used to do on handbags and the like, but still annoying.
On that note, I might do all the spreadsheets tonight. After my microwave cottage pie and the last of the After Eights. With a glass of wine.0 -
ah now, you see, you didn't mention After Eights on my thread - just the reduced price cottage pies. And there was I feeling sorry for you as I ate my steak.......well, not feeling sorry for you any more lady.....the nearest I've got to anything sweet and yummy is a bowl of cornflakes :rotfl:Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. :rotfl: There were only 2 left in the box, which I had to share with Adam, and they were only there because they'd fallen sideways and DH hadn't spotted them. Although I did decide against the cottage pie and have some pasta instead, can't imagine why.0
