In fact, clean the whole sodding house. Hmmm. not a hope

Also did my shop and scan upload and hung a hook under the desk to hold some cables.

Just time to quickly hoover the study, wake Adam up (he's dozed off on the sofa) and go collect the Gregory. A fairly productive morning - I think this childminder business could be a Good Thing.
  • sounds like you have been busy whilst Greg has been at the childminder's - hope he had fun there.

Panda can you PM me the details of the bingo thing you guys are in -thanks

Hiya MM! I'll send you the referral directly through email as it's an emailed one. It's a good one too!!!

Greg apparently cried most of the morning which broke my heart to hear until I remembered that if he was at home he'd have spent most of the morning crying anyway, which is the reason I never get anything done. So on the whole it was a success. He slept a couple of times which he doesn't do very often here, and by the sound of it had loads of attention (I know she could tell me anything, but I don't think she was lying). I'm going to send him back for a couple of hours on Friday so it isn't too long until he goes again - not all day as my parents are here and they'll want to spend as much time as poss with the kids (and do a bit of free babysitting in the process!).

Who's doing this Qype thing? I saw it a little while ago but only really got started last night after I saw it mentioned on Hypno's diary. Is the £50 still available or are we just playing for the Ipod shuffle?! Must hop over to Hypno to see...

I'd choose a good childminder over a nursery every time - in a nursery, no matter how good the staff are, they can't give a baby as much one-to-one attention as a childminder. Hopefully he'll settle, and maybe he'll learn some good habits from being there. I'm sure mine learnt to settle down to sleep & eat better with a fresh face who they didn't want to play up as much as they did when they were with mummy!

Thanks Tyllwyd - it's good to hear someone say that I'm doing the right thing, my mother in law has been moaning that he's too young and he'll feel really sad and miss me. I didn't hear her offering to take him for a few hours a week though - she admits herself she couldn't cope with running after him. If I see a change in his behaviour and he seems to be sad then I'll stop sending him, but we're talking about a couple of half-days a week so I can try and get some work done at home, I'm hardly farming him out every single day while I drink gin and go to the hairdressers. Now, there's an idea...

I've been Qyping all evening at work and I've just earned my first goody bag. Looks like quite a nice t-shirt in it = Xmas pressie for OH. Think I'll do a bit of bingo port next for a change of scenery.

I found you on Qype Hypno! I find it hard to believe that there aren't 500 people yet who've done 50 reviews but it said they'd tell us when the vouchers were gone and as far as I can see it doesn't say anything yet. Brilliant news on getting both lots of goodies. I've qualified for a tshirt and mug so far! I think I'm taking too long writing the reveiws - I try to keep them short, but you know me, I just don't do short. Maybe that's why the vouchers are still there - they might have rejected so many of the reviews as being too short. Must try and do more today. Even if just for the frisbee!

We bought a new mattress at about midnight last night. Out old one is driving me round the bend and I've not had a decent night's sleep in ages, and I think it's part of the neck/back problem I've got. So I got an email from Tesco saying Sealy mattresses are half price, and we bought a fab looking memory foam one for £412 which will that'll work out at about £340ish if you count Quidco, vouchers and Clubcard points as deals. I can't wait! I think we're going to use this as 'gift to each other' for Christmas, and just buy a few cheap things for the sake of Adam as he loves helping other people open their presents.

Nothing much planned today, work at 4 and the HR woman is giving us the most pointless talk on substance misuse ('us' being me and one colleague - we plan to load the tower up with little heaps of flour, burnt teaspoons, tin-foil and rolled up 20's before she arrives). It'll be a bit like on my induction: she asked if I smoke, I said no, never. So she launches into a 10 minute description of where the designated smoking areas are, toilets fitted with alarms, gross misconduct. I can't stand her.

    Have a good day everyone!

I'm doing qype too - some of the things I've reviewed are ridiculous, but the number of coffee bars to review, which nobody had touched, was amazing - 20 points beats 8 every time. Luckily, I've lived here for a long time, so I actually know some stuff! I've been so careless about doing it, I didn't even realise there were only so many ipods. Right, I'm going back there then!

    Thanks Panda!

PS - I think its a good idea - fresh faces etc, it takes a village to raise a child and all that. Providing that experience to a child is important - even on an evolutionary basis, we're not meant to have exclusive nuclear families, and the level you're doing it at is absolutely fine. Don't worry - if you get challenged about it, talk about evolutionary biology and psychology. That'll sort them!

My mother in law couldn't even say 'evolutionary biology and psychology' never mind have the first idea what I'm talking about! I like your thinking though.

I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO peed off with Qype. I did 52 reviews (a couple of extras for good measure) then read the thread saying people thought they'd signed up for the challenge by joining but hadn't actually signed up for the challenge as they hadn't clicked some stupid link. SO I've now done it all again and I'm at 94. I've worked my way around every Tesco, TK Maxx and McDonalds in the area and starting to run out of ideas. Clicking on random links now as I don't care about the points, I just want my flippin fifty quid!

I did win an ipod though, that was nice. Ungrateful cow that I am!
