You nutters! :rotfl: So you've got to have it on in the background while you're doing something else, or you'll lose the will to live. Fair enough.

Sweet with your little Michelin man, but I'm glad you've got the central heating functioning again, thats no joke as we're coming into another cold spell.

Hope you and lunar are both okay.

Oh KC, we may never see you again here, so enthralling is the intellectual chat in that other forum.

All's good here, nice and warm (and still appreciating it!). Did the mystery shop again today but to be honest I just paid in cash to get a receipt - I'll use the info from Monday's shop as they spent ages talking to me then and it would have just looked odd to stand there and ask exactly the same stuff again of the same people. It was all really good anyway both days so nobody loses.
We joined the gym today :j followed by a trip to McDonalds:rotfl: :o . We've just gone for the PAYG option even though it's much dearer, but at least there's no commitment. Had to have an induction and a weigh-in. I'm about 3lbs down on the start weight but that always happens at the beginning. The diet is going fab so far - at McD's I had just a chicken sandwich (375 calories) & diet coke: no fries, no ice cream sundaes, no milkshake, no 5 big macs on the side! How are the rest of you dust-munchers getting on?

I'm going to see a childminder tomorrow. We've talked about this so much over the past few months but it's getting to the stage now where we're both going around the bend and nothing is getting done because I'm always chasing around after Greggy. I've no idea what she charges but since I can list a couple of hundred quid's worth of Ebay in a couple of hours but don't because of the baby, I'm not too worried about the cost, it should pay for itself. She's recommended by some of the mums at Adam's school, but I've never dealt with childminders before - is there anything I should ask or look out for?

    Enough prattling. Should be Ebaying.

    I've lost half a lb.........:o

Re the childminder, I would say trust your instincts - if it feels right, it probably is. If there is anything you are unsure of, then trust that feeling, investigate it, ask questions, and if you still have a niggly doubt, then steer clear.

Good advice - thanks. Half a pound off is a full pound better than half a pound on. Well done!
  • erm 1.5 lbs on:p but I was away for the weekend . I still went to Slimming World last night to face the music though.

Panda good luck with the childminder and hopefully you will make thousands from your ebaying:D

My two kids have both gone to the same childminder since they were little, and they are very happy - it can't have been a bad experience because they are both at school now but begged to keep going to her once a week after school. They've got a little gang of friends there, all different ages, which I think does them a lot of good in learning how to get along with other kids.

Apart from whether or not you think you will get along with the childminder, I think it is worth asking what other children will be there at the same time. Does she have kids of her own, and if so, do you think they will interact well with your Greg? She might be lovely herself, but if she has a jealous pre-schooler it might change the balance. Does she take the kids out to any activities, toddler groups etc?

And with the money, make sure you understand the deal with holiday pay, whether you pay for bank holidays, if Greg is ill & can't come and so on - over the year, these things can make quite a difference.

    Good luck!
