It's already been said the credit agencies like experian etc all have copies of the full unedited list.
Do you trust these people with your info and not to sell it on in some way?0 -
Explain what can be done.
Experian has the 'master' list?0 -
How many of these websites are there?

I have the same problem. I phoned them yesterday and emailed them as they told me too. Though my details are still on there. I suppose I will have to complain again if they don't remove them.
I think it's disgusting that these companies are allowed to post other peoples names and addresses online. The government should make it illegal and put a stop to it.
I posted on some American forums and it's the same problem in America with online directories like the White Pages and other US directories. So it's not only happening here in England. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
I'm a foreign student living in the UK temporarily and I was shocked to find myself listed on 192.com. My listing says that it's from the electoral rolls but I'm pretty sure I'm not on the rolls. They had various people from my student residence, supposedly from the electoral rolls, but they were foreign as well. Also 192 lists age ranges (i.e. 25-29) which were mostly wrong. 192 claims to get the info from electoral rolls but it looks like that's not true.0

Can anyone help as I almost had a shock of my life when I idly typed in my name in the search engine...... I've read the blogs and the C01 link has now been removed and replaced with ads to pay to download from other sites. I'm too skeptical about this and feel it is another way of getting financial details out of me. Help!
Thanks to Seazach for this link - statics.192.com/downloads/C01.pdf
for anyone who reads and needs this. They wont be having my signature thats for sure0 -
1. In the UK it is now illegal to use a false name in completing the electoral list
2. It is also illegal if you do not complete the list fully.
3. 192.com are legally obliged to remove your details within 21 days of receiving 'written' confirmation that you wish your details removed. If they do not do this you have rights to formally complain. I suggest that if you have PROOF that they have received confirmation a complaint should be made so that 192 is reprimanded/fined.
4. 192 has an option on their web site to send their form via email as well as via post and fax. Using post will only be any good if you send as signed for on receipt however email may well be the best traceable option as it shows what was sent and when.0
