I wanna remove my details from 192.com

The details of the people in my household, and also my parents', are available on https://www.192.com
I am uncomfortable with this. Is there any way you can still be registered on the voters roll, but not have your details available to the public?
Also, are there any other sites which may have my personal details available to the public?

Just read your post and didn't know what 192.com was - can't believe this info is so easy to get - please let me know if you find a way to remove your details.

isn't this when you fill in your yearly electoral roll form there is an option not to go on the edited register which can be sold for commercial purposes?0

I always tick that box, and the same with anything I apply for online or otherwise. I dont like being contacted by phone/post/email and I like to keep my details as personal as possible. It obviously hasnt worked.0 -
I was told that ticking the box makes no difference to whether or not you appear on 192.com, and this seems to be the case because I always, without fail, tick the box. I guess it's not being used for "commercial purposes". Thank you to payless for the link to the C01 form. It's going by post and not fax at £1.50 a minute! I wonder if they'll act on it?Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.0

Sheesh you're right - send removal requests to UK@b4u.co.uk (though how they do that without a signature I do not know).
How many more of these damned things are there?Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.0 -
192.com is obviously using the electoral roll for commercial purposes, because you need to pay to get hold of the full details. Is this allowed under the terms of release of the electoral roll?Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.0

Ah - mystery solved, I think. I only appear in the 2002 entry, and I imagine it is since then that the box has appeared. This also explains why I have an out of date "other occupant" listing as well. My quibble now is why ticking the box doesn't apply retrospectively - at least for people who ticked the box who were at the address in years before the box existed.Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.0
