But DS is back from camp this weekend so may get bogged down in mountains of wet smelly gear to be sorted before we can go on to other clearing up

I used to unpack scout camp gear OUTSIDE - much safer!:rotfl:

As I'm here and I know I can be honest with you lot, I have lost every motivation I had with this course. I just got another result in, failed that one, I really tried hard aswell, just looks like this is going to prove too much for me. I'm still going to hand in the assignments but I really can't see myself passing either course this year. I might need to rethink and do something else.

    OK Deep breath.
How have your marks been so far? How bad was the fail? What were your tutor's comments? How supportive is your tutor?

I also had worries about what you said, CraftyS, about judging depth etc. And, I could just imagine me with three layers in the glasses - I'd be like the nodding dog on the car parcel shelf:

colleague across the desk (top of lens)
    'puter screen (middle of lens)
paper on desk in front of 'puter screen (bottom of lens)

rinse and repeat several times in a few minutes and I'm sure my physiotherapy bill would go up because I'd have repetative strain injury in my neck from all that bobbing up and down!
I did have a problem with my first pair, but got used to them fairly quickly.

    Just had an idea!
How many of us wear glasses and do any of you have varifocals or more than one pair and switch?
    All comments advice welcome
  • craftyscholar - I wear glasses and have done since I was 11. As I get older (51 now) I find that I need my glasses for everyday life but have to take them off to read, but I don,t need reading glasses. How weird is that!!

If you still want to, I'll do one with you 10.15-10.45 - that'll give me a min to get dressed (was watching quincy).

Just taking five minutes here after a very late breakfast. DS1 stayed over at a friend's on Thursday night, obviously didn't get much sleep, came home and slept all yesterday afternoon - despite me trying to get him up several times - then of course, he wasn't tired and was still up at just before 3am! I sleep lightly, so the sounds of him moving around kept me awake...and what with OH sleeping on his back and breathing like a warthog, I ended up with far less sleep than I need to keep me in a happy mood.

Just off to do the weekly shopping as soon as I've written a list, and perhaps I'll have time to dash down to the allotment after. I was hoping to go over and see Mum this afternoon, but if I'm still this tired I don't want to drive - I'll wait and see.

Have a good holiday, those of you who are flitting off today, and have a good weekend everyone else!
